Final Fantasy Origins (PSone) still exists though, so it's not like improved versions of the original formulas for I and II don't exist.
The music is leagues better now. I don't know how to feel about the balancing yet, but it feels more or less on par with the post Dawn of Souls ports, except with the spell charge system intact (which I hate).
Unpopular opinion, but I love the mini-maps and I like how it tells you how many treasure chests there are in each dungeon.
I'm a bit broken up over the lack of Soul of Chaos dungeons because I loved the boss battles, but I also drive myself a bit insane each playthrough navigating the long, tedious dungeons that led to those boss fights. Almost ruins the whole postgame for me. Here I don't have to worry about that stress, so I've made my peace with this version being incomplete.
Thanks. I've got Origins as well. I made a list a few months ago of the best version of each game for the day I finally have time to marathon them. Now that these remasters are here, I have to go over the first six again.
