And MP is optional (if you go the intended way, otherwise you need magic).

Just out of Semitt Falls and I don't think I'll need any more stats for the rest of the game.
Like if you first build firion, maria, guy as mages, cause it allows you to farm the knights in fynn pretty early for some quick gil. It will get harder to boost your strength for example. So your first few hours will look incredibly fast in terms of going up in stats, but at one point it will stagnate and you will have to grind for longer periods.
Im serious, don't even worry about it.
This. Everyone thinking you need to spend 10 hours grinding like a madman early on is just ruining the game for themselves. You can just play it "normally", gaining skills and stats organically as you play, and be fine for 99% of the game.
well the real problem is something else..the problem is that you gain the max possible level (weapons/magic) in certain parts of the game so soon that another thousand battles in these areas are generic, brain-less autoattack battles, bosses including and this status lasts til you move forward to the next part of the game where higher rank monsters are
I didn't do any grinding until the end of the game (to get 16 weapon and magic skill) and I was already so OP by that point I just ran from every encounter in the final 4 dungeons.
Drain attacks deal damage based on the target's maximum HP.
This is also why the Blood Sword is really powerful against bosses, especially the final boss.
The first 2 games are pretty much part of the OG jrpg line up where the goal was just to grind to get stronger. You have access to the whole world map in the beginning, with the only thing limiting you is having a boat or not. People can simply decide to play it normally or just grind their ass of right away, cause you actually have access to some endgame drops too.
