My game is stuck, can anyone help? [spoiler]

I am at the point where the airship just depature and bombarded several cities and I need to talk to Cid to proceed the game. However I just realized I have missed the keyword 'airship' which was supposed to be collected from Princess Hilda earlier, and now it cannot be unlocked anymore by talking to her. I have tried to speak to Cid, Joseph, Minh, Hilda, King of Fynn with every possible conversation option and none of them triggers anything. What should I do now?

I think you need to travel to the keep and get the skyfire thing. Keep is located deep in the middle of the world map surrounded by mountains. then you go to the dreadnaught landing site up north on the world map and throw the skyfire in the engine.

You dont have to speak to Cid to use his airship. Talk to the guy next to him and you can take the Airship to Kashaun. I highly recommend everytime you see Red or Green words, exhaust every option to make sure nothing is missed. Even if you dont see any Red or Green words, make sure you do it anyway. Better safe than sorry.

I had the same issue, it's a game breaking bug. You need to get "dreadnought" and "airship" from hilda or cid BEFORE giving hilda the mithril or it is impossible to get it at all for some reason. (so no game progression possible anymore) I needed to start new game, it worked when talking to her multiple times after getting the mission to gather the mithril

I just experienced the same issue.

I got to Dreadnaught and it bombarded the cities before I learned either "dreadnaught" or "airship".

Now, I can't do anything to progress and need to start over.

I'll just skip this game, instead. If this is likely to happen again later if I don't follow a guide, it's a complete waste of time.

It's not likely to happen later if you pay attention/talk to everyone and learn every key word you are presented with. The game makes it clear when you see a key word you can learn. It's a silly hoop that this particular game requires you to jump through, but you don't need a guide for it.

Like, I'm not denying that it's a stupid design... but you don't need a guide.

Like OP, I'm stuck about 6 hours in just after the dreadnaught bombed the cities and Manwu left after reporting back to Hilda. I had learned 'Dreadnaught' but not Airship or Sunfire, now neither Hilda, her father, Cid, or Josef (in Salamand) have anything to say or learn with my known keywords. Seems like I'll have to restart and talk more earlier in the game so as not to miss anything.

Seems like this is easy to get stuck in if you're not playing with a guide. I usually do not talk to everyone unless I get absolutely stuck and need some hints. In this case, the opportunity to learn the words came and went while I was chasing down the storyline.

EDIT: Restarted. Learned 'Airship' from Cid at first opportunity and the rest fell in to place. Don't miss this or you'll be restarting!
