Purple poison = Venom?
I'm guessing the "purple" looking poison is from venom. However, there doesn't seem to be a spell that removes this status effect. I've tried Esuna and Basuna and neither of these did anything to remove the purple-colored poison. The only thing that works for me is Antidote. My only guess is that maybe my Esuna/Basuna spells aren't high level enough to remove the poison? When I attempt to cast those spells while affected by Venom, there's just a buzzer sound like it's not for that or doesn't work for that purpose. Any clues? Thanks!

I think the purple poison fades after battle.

Esuna and Basuna do need to be leveled up to cure certain status effects, but I think Poison/Venom can be cured at level 1, at least single target. Multitargeting may take additional levels, and even then, I think there can be chance for failure. This is my understanding from the wiki and from playing around a bit with the spells, so perhaps someone with a deeper understanding of the mechanics can speak more intelligently about them.

I think it's the opposite, Venom is green and does not stay after battle while Poison is Purple and stay after battle. Lvl 1 Esuna and Basuna can remove each respectively but only one person at a time. You need at least one more level of the spells to cast all in the menu, possibly more in battle since there is some kind of accuracy even for White Spells but not sure for Esuna/Basuna. Each level of each spells or so can remove another status effect up to lvl 7 or 8 where I don't think there is any advantage to level them up anymore.

I read that Esuna can also revive at high level but why would do that instead of using Life and it would probably take you the whole game to get it high enough without grinding.

I figured it out, at least partially. My Esuna spell level was too low to really do anything. I've since raised it to 6 and it seems to be removing most negative status effects. If I'm understanding how this works, the higher level your Esuna spell, the more various negative status effects it can remove for you.
