Late Game Grinding/Leveling? (Spoilers)
I'm at the end of the game, it was a breeze up till the Emperor who is just ignoring all my attacks.
Even hasted and berserked my char only does 1k a round, and the emp just heals that back when he melees me and ignores all my other attackers.

I don't remember him being so bad on the GBA/PSP versions, and beat the game normal but here.. I'm having issues.

I think the main issue is my weapons are all at 12, and no matter what I do.. it doesn't seem to budge forward. I've tried swords, fists.. all are stuck at 12 and I am walking back and forth in the final dungeon (Crystal floor area) to try and up my stats.

Sadly, I missed the 2nd blood sword (found in the thiefs house) and probably sold the first (found in a dungeon)

They removed that first Blood Sword in this remake (plus other remakes). Having 2 can be a little over-powered.

To get Weapon_Skill exp they may need to attack more times in each battle. So make sure you aren't killing the enemies too quickly!

As for the Emperor stealing HP; You could try using Blink to increase their Evasion_Level and lessen the effect, although they will also need high Evasion% for that to work.

I finally beat him, I had some status effect weapons and used the bug to my advantage.
After being hit with an Ancient sword, even my lowest dps was doing 2k a turn.

Ancient Sword is basically the best weapon in the game, even without the Status Effect bug feature.

Why do you say that?

Why do you say that?

Because of the massive debuff that Curse inflicts. It basically halves all of your combat stats, like attack and defense, making enemies much weaker and more manageable.

True but how often does it hit when not bugged?

Also.. how do you know what weapons do in this game.. I saw no definitions.. unless I missed them.

I think the same, back in the day 2006, i beat this game on a CRT with my PS2 without much internet and my perception could saw (without any debuffer indicator above enemy sprite, thanks square) that my attacks do more damage. Curse with Ancient Sword in Firion & healing with Healing Staff on Maria for taking care of my party was my main combo in my very first run of this painass game... dungeons made me swept. I love my first 2 experience, like any other game.

I have to find the road and face it and then the emperor,

I have the ancient sword and the healing wand. Is there somewhere where I can grind their levels up and any other advice?

I want to be prepared and beat the game.

Thanks in advance.

One of the buttons switches between the stat boost and a description of the equipment. That is where it tells you about any special features.

Even if you hit for 0, the ancient sword will slaughter the emporer.

Often enough for it to be one of the best weapons in the game in the original version too.

Basically you can grind anywhere, just remember that being with low equipment give you more rapid growth, that is more for skill weapons (not sure 100% for stats) and also when you hit stronger enemies. enemies have like a difficult rank i think u can see in bestiary but just take in mind areas chronological as difficulty tier is more easy (skills growth can cap if you have stronger weapons hitting lesser mobs, so use weak weapons). The more distance between enemy difficulty and lower equipment better is your development. I walk trough game without equipment in this run cause i read agility goes up without plates, helmets and stuff (make sense, you are more agile without armor) and they always missed and is true, this time i was only with my buckler and main weapon no more. so, if you train maria staff p.e. with the first staff you can get rapid skill to 10 or so, and then you can heal with your attack value as much as you want if not have a cure trained or problem with mp at end game, but training cure & spirit is easy also (in this version tho). Im not saying you have to do this, i just shared my resolve run when i was a kid back in the days with that combo....struggling myself alone tru this game and last dungeons. Well good luck!

Thanks for the advice.

Ice gigas is the key, was stuck at sword lvl 12, trying random stuff, gave main guy an ice brand and shield, got into a fight with ice gigas and a bunch of bombs, took out the bombs first, cast haste on main guy and had him attack whilst others defend.
Gigas just stands there taking double digit attacks, doesn't take as long as it sounds but afterwards I was gaining a level per two fights.
Have yet to try different weapon types ect
