FF1 Youtube copyright claim me lol wtf
So I'm not a big youtuber at all but really, I just did a livestream last night and already got slapped with a CW claim for "Battle theme" which happens every 10 steps -- really? I disputed it so we'll see but if they are hitting people with copyright this isn't gonna be cool cause I planned on streaming FF1-6 again for my channel and all of that will be dinged.

It's up to the copyright holders how and when you can use their work, especially in a commercialized setting such as streaming (because streamers do make money streaming content).

Why the heck don't they sell the OST anyway? I'd buy them. They are amazing. I'm aware they have been pulled from the game data. I'm surprised they don't have official releases though.

Youtube has turned into a censorship joke or nightmare however you want to look at it sadly.

It doesn't matter Youtube is an American company so the Japanese have to follow their laws if they're recklessly throwing copyright claims around. Also theiir case would be fought in an American court. Lastly no one has decided if let's plays are covered by fair use or not so don't comment on something you know nothing about because companies like Square abuse the copyright claim system even when it's factually know that a video is fair use.
