Unity, but no Mac OS support?
From looking at the game files, it clearly uses unity at some point. When you already have an engine which supports all possible platforms you can think of, would it be too much to ask to also offer this game on platforms like mac os, please?

I get that it's much effort with a proprietary engine to begin with, and probably wouldn't be worth the extra effort for the developers, but this just seems a little bit lazy to me.

It shouldn't be that hard, should it?

And before you ask why: I enjoy playing games like this using the macbook. I can wirelessly connect it with my tv, while relaxing on the couch and connecting my dual sense controller to it. No wires, big screen, maximum enjoyment :) I just don't like windows laptops and I don't want to move my PC to the living room :D

you'd be surprised at how much effort it takes to add another platform even with an engine with Unity. Its not as simple as selecting MacOS and everything just works, they probably looked at it and decided that having it as another supported platform wouldn't bring in enough money to justify it

That might be true for platforms that differ very much in terms like input devices and such (like having to add game pad controls and replace the ingame button displays).

But a mac is literlly a PC more or less.

You do realize Apple devices have all kinds of fancy security measures? Great for users, but a nightmare for third-party developers, making sure an app, movie, TV show, soundtrack, or game doesn't violate those security measures. Plus, Apple has both third-party developers and end-users agree to all manner of lengthy legal documents that mostly state what they're unable to do. Besides, isn't Final Fantasy already available on the Apple App Store? I know the Android version doesn't have all the nice extras that the Pixel Remasters have, but even the Pixel Remasters don't measure up to the greatness of the Dawn of Souls versions of FF1&2, or even the PS1 re-releases.

And don't even get me started on semantics: ANY computer made for personal, and not business, use is, literally a PC: a Personal Computer. This means that not only are desktops and laptops computers, but also tablets (which is actually short for "tablet personal computer", or "tablet PC"), cell-phones (ever since ~2003-2006), and TVs (ever since ~2007). Hell, even some modern kitchen appliances have computers in them. So a Macbook isn't "a PC, more or less", it IS a PC, period, stop.

They may be basically the same with the hardware but how the software works is very different and as games don't interact directly with hardware it still requires a developer spending time working on it
