Oh yeah. I always forget about changing launch properties. Thanks.
2) Never experienced this myself ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ But it should be a simple fix of Square actually implementing V-SYNC options in the config menu I would think... Although it doesn't really explain why they made the game apparently locked to 58-60 fps.
3) Does it not remember what slot you last saved on, as in each time you go to save you're not already on the correct file? If not... that should be fixed. I haven't noticed yet because I've only been using the one slot.
4) Apparently this was done cause Beastiary is saved to system settings and not individual saves... this way it remains filled out regardless of individual saves. But that shouldn't really make it inaccessible from in-game and it's rather silly that it is only accessible via title menu.
5) I don't see Square doing much with this besides possibly fixing the English font to use the Japanese font... but even they should've done this prior to release especially with how publicly the outcry from fans were based on the first screenshots showcased. In any case, whether Square officially fixes this or not... this is something modders have already figured out and now you can use ANY font you desire. I'm currently rocking the font used in Dragon Quest XI myself.
Along with other mods like a darker ui, colored item icons, etc. https://puu.sh/I19Wp/e40c96b6a3.png
6) Weird. First I've heard of this. Though I've neither used a White Mage nor the auto-battle feature so far... I heard auto-battle basically just repeats whatever the last action used was.
2. I saw video of people that got screen tearing, but I personally did not. Maybe it's fixable for vsync and monitor refresh rate adjustments, I don't know.
4. Agree
5. The Font was not good, but it was passable on my widescreen monitor. I've seen Youtube clips where it looks really, really bad.
6. Never noticed this, but often during autobattles I was watching Youtube or tv show on my other monitor, so I may have simply missed it.
I bet they will probably only make minimal patches for these games. It's a shame because I felt like Final Fantasy I really needs some balancing. If you're going to do these kinds of releases, I don't see the point in doing half-measures at improving the game, which seems to be the case so far. Maybe they didn't get enough time or budget, but that's fixable.
I made zero effort to grind other than a little to make the Marsh Cave a bit easier. Yet my party steamrolled the entire game post Marsh Cave. Only the final boss provided any challenge, all the others were effortless. I think I had like 9 KOs on my party throughout the whole game. All this despite the new in game map makes it easier to not grind as much as you can see where you don't need to go, and if you look at it while "indoors" you can see which rooms have chests in them.
Much of the loot is pointless as well, you get duplicates of gear you can get buy in stores in dungeon chests, which you probably did before entering the dungeon. They tried a one-size-fits-all approach to their loot distribution because of the different possible class combinations and they wanted them all to be viable, but most of the loot I got wasn't even used and I had a rather standard party of a Fighter/Thief/White Mage/Black Mage. I would have made the chests dynamic and based upon what classes were present in the player party.
The encounter rate is too high and uses a very predictable pattern with next to no variance. I would have added more variance to it to make it a little less invasive and slightly adjusted xp and money gains to compensate. You'd be able to enjoy the game music a bit more without an interruption every 7 seconds.
And last but not least, I think every RPG of this type needs at least a little level scaling applied to bosses and other high end enemies so they don't become pushovers so easily. Say a boss is balanced for a level 20 party, but you could beat it at 17 with difficulty, and steamroll it at 25. Don't mess with the lower range so much, but give it a little more adjustment to match your party up to level 30 so it's still easier the more you level, but not basically another autobattle steamroll.
But none of that will ever happen, unfortunately.
Yeah, the default binding for keyboard is "Q"
any real pc gamer should have borderless gaming on the ready. this should never be an issue with people even if the devs dont add it in
Yeah it's annoying that you have to press ALT+ENTER to get it back to borderless fullscreen every time you load it, regardless if you've selected Fullscreen or Borderless Window.
