Invisira and Protera pretty much useless?
So far these spells are barely effective. Cast Invisira, party members still get hit on a high percentage. I don't even notice a decrease in enemy damage with Protera.

Anyone else feel the same way?

You mean by stacking it?

All spells that increase a particular stat will stack, increasing the effect every time its used. The same is also true for tonics.

A boss cast Protera on himself in some battle and my Knight's damage went from 300 to 50. But his damage seems spiky for some reason. The Red Mage/Wizard is more reliable damage.

Protera definitely works. I absolutely noticed taking way less physical damage after casting it. Invisira/blink do seem useless. No one in my party ever dodged with it on, and I never once missed any monster that casted it on itself.

That's because everything hits up to a certain number of times and they may be missing or you might be missing only some of your hits when attacking.

It's not just 1 hit, it can be anywhere from 1-16 hits I believe depending on agility values and whether you're hasted/slowed, and every one of those up to 16 hits gets evade checked.

That said, I have no idea whether Invisira works/stacks in this version for sure, but it probably does reduce the damage you take by reducing some of the hits you would have taken.

evasion is based on evading multiple hits not the whole attack. the newer games are based on hits as well its just the hits are counted as one big hit and evasion is for the whole attack hitting.

to test look at how many hits the enemy generally does. ie 8hits on avg
if you do blink twice it should be a bit lower like maybe 3-5hits on avg

I had no idea. I can only imagine how insane that is when most bosses in the game hardly lasted more than a couple rounds with just Temper and Haste on two party members.

Did during my fight against Marlith. (she normally hits 6 times, with 2 Invisras she only hit 3 times and dealt around half damage; she died soon after though so it's possible she might have gotten a 4 hit attack in had she had the chance)

Invisra isn't particularly good as a spell. So the hit formula is 0...200<{Min[168+(Accuracy), 255]-Evade}. If this results in a hit, the final number is divided by 32 to determine hit count. Invis and Invisra add +40 evade. If a target is blind, the base 168 to hit them is increased by 40, and their base 168 to hit is reduced by 40.

I don't even wanna bother with all the mathematics of it haha. But thanks for explaining, adventurers!

Did you see a reduction in hits. For example some bosses may have 16x hits. Under invis. They may only be able to land 7 of them instead of 12-14.
