Cant use knife on fire hydrant(sorted)

I get to the red fire hydrant and left click it gives me option to use my knife but nothing happens when i press space.

The game says you can in the items menu.

No, it simply just brings up your inventory, and if you don't have the right item it'll automatically mark slot 1. It's basically trying to tell you that you need something in your inventory to fix it. I agree, it should have been clearer though.

Part 1 actually automatically uses the correct item, if you have it in your inventory. If you don't have it, the game simply says that you don't have it. Better design, since it doesn't even start confusing you by bringing up your inventory

To use the knife, you have to do the first step in the secret: knife every zombie you fight without getting hit but it has to be a perfect dodge. Zombies behind the fences don't count and the ones that move the fences, you can only knife them after the cutscene.

You have to wait for The Nemesis to turn into his dog mutation and pee on the hydrant before that works. Hope this helps.
