Game dead or still something happening?

Is this game dead, meaning no more future patches?
Last update is 8 months in the past now, but I keep reading in the comments about a coming DLC, so not sure what to make of this. If there is still something to come I will wait before starting to play.

It received another patch recently.

Well its a single player action RPG not a live service game so even if there was no new updates the game is content complete and has had major changes since its first release.

However just today it got a new patch that changed and added many new things, so now would probably be the best time to jump in.

The new patch dropped like less than half a day after I asked, lol.
So what about the DLC I keep reading about? If there is one coming the game is not content complete.
And considering the game apparently approved a lot in the years since release, if the devs are still further polishing it, waiting another year might not be too bad of a choice for the best possible experience.
