What possible benefit would come of it?
19:43 I've had my share of time with Unreal Engine, and I can actually answer why the movement in there is like that. And it's telling a lot about the developers and their general experience.
The engine treats your character as a physical object, and when you move, it calculates your gravity and acceleration (acceleration is tied to fps, so yeah, you were right there). 99% of the time it doesn't really matter, but if you for whatever reason decide to make your character huge, the engine doesn't know what to do with this anymore.
So apparently, all scales of objects in this game are way off, and it was too far into the development, before they've noticed it. You are a huge giant moving along even more huge models, with all physics multiplied. You can also see it by how slow you are actually falling on 20:59
Further more UE has a long list https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f1viVezORk8 of successful well run games to boast of. Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order, Mortal Shell, Little Nightmares 1+2, Lords of the Fallen 2023. Batman Arkham. My PC wasn't the best till an upgrade late last summer yet two of these games {Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order and Mortal Shell) ran perfectly on it.
You may want to check the history of unreal games.
Video is from a year ago. Movement has been fixed since then along with a lot of other improvements.
Ill admit mt rig is nowhere near 2025 standards yet lol So maybe thats my fault, but still. Stuff costs a lot of money too do.
