Since the last few patches things have been much easier - I am overall quite impressed with what they have pulled off. It is now - despite the red knights everywhere ... quite enjoyable.

The world is amazing!

Guys... stamina bar is full yet my guy doesn't attack when I click... I just can't deal - i set aside my day to get into this. I was enjoying it besides the initial jank game feel. However this is now just too much. I simply want the controls to respond when I click or press a button. it just doesn't. It's like the combat timing is all locked up or something. It seems the problem is worse if I'm locked on in combat. NOT IT'S NOT MY STAMINA BAR! I've checked... I'll try this again after a few patches. Don't get me wrong, great first effort guys, don't give up on us though - Just giving my feedback. I will return to this after it's patched a bit more.

Main problem ... I try hit the first boss with a full stamina gauge and my guy just looks at him half the time. It's almost as though the Game is too busy calculating the boss's moves to detect that I'm doing stuff over here...

it´s because they added some really useless "combo" mechanic. You have to time your consecutive attacks right, or it´s dark souls 2 double click "fEaTuRe" again where your char does nothing. Pathethic

Rhythm game combo system doesn't have anything to do with it.
I already posted it before, game doesn't recognise inputs half the time.
Go up to a leverl. Press interact. Nothing happens. SPAM interact. Then my dude pulls it.
Same for parry.
Same for pretty much everything, that isn't movement.

There is still some janky combat and i hope it gets better, though i've heard its more responsive if you cap the game at 60 fps.

got nothing to do with FPS or a cap on FPS
it's just incredible and i do mean incredible glitchy and buggy
kill an enemy with a crit? chances are the next enemy won't show his health bar, just the crit-prompt (health bar) and health bars beeing wonky in general
face more than 2 to 3 enemies at once? chances are keyboard inputs (and mouse) start going on strike, heck this can even happen when facing a singel enemy
draw your bow while beeing engaged? better hope your enemy doesn't hit you with a ranged attack, cause otherwise there's a 50% chance your aim->hold->fire won't work until you completely leave aim-mode
hit an enemy? there's a chance his health bar starts laging and his animation, like playing an online game with 120 MS upwards; despite there beeing no actual performance issue/hike. i mean the damage registers in these cases, but it's nigh a second delay when this happens.
fight an enemy while any sort of elevation is involved? i had everything happen, my character getting beamed through the level, enemies floating away into the void, it's magical

it's hard to put into words how bad this game feels to actualy play, nevermind that as i already feared this strange progression system kills the purpose of actualy fighting pretty much anything. perhaps this is a good thing considering how bad the gameplay actualy is.

at this point i hope they rlease console commands, for people to ghost/god mode and just look at the pretty enviroments and enemy design; cause this is just unsalvagable.
starting from the inventory U.I. the 5 minute elevator or ladder rides, to the absolute broken state of this game, the questionable checkpoint/mirage-system to the horrible progression mechanics: no amount of time can rezz this project.

I have identified that the combo system is effectively not possible when locked on, neither is sprinting. so when locked to an enemy you are essentially unable to combo. ... why I do not know, and how this wasn't picked up when play testing is confusing to me.

Yeah thanks it's still broken though, I imagine it's their top priority so I'm holding out for a patch to clean it up.

Agreed, they're trying to do something different and I resepect that, but they should have anticipated their audience ... looks to me like their "detection" of a press vs a hold looks flawed often I press for parry to quickly and it doesn't register, the only way to consistently get it right is to old the button press for a little bit extra - same goes for attacking.

it's like the threshold of a "press" vs a hold, requires too much time required to pass.

I think these issues were partly controller based. I've just loaded the game up after the latest patch and it's like playing a totally different game! Still a tad floaty but the movement and combat are actually playable now. I'm on an xbox controller for reference.

Yeah man I agree, it is better after the latest patch, but still some weird stuff happens. I mean for a 3 man team this is pretty amazing - i just wish they spent one more month polishing the combat flow. The main gripe seems to be lock on... i flick it on and off mid combat just using it to orient and the combat seems more responsive.

do you have your weapon out? If your weapon isn't equipped (aka swapping to your other set of main/offhand weapons) he will just sit there lol.
