This game feels like someone told an AI program to make a Soulslike

Nothing makes sense and the world feels like some irrationally planned out dreamscape that no real human would come up with. The aesthetics are like Dark Souls mixed with Terminator mixed with Angel's Egg.

One of the inspirations for this game is the manga "Blame!" by Tsutomu Nihei. Aesthetically it is exactly that - irrationally looking architectural mess.

In Blame! it had reasons - automated city building system went out of control, consuming planets for matter and expanding like a tumor through millions of kilometres in all directions.

So for those people who enjoyed Blame! this might be a visual gem. Some places even look almost the same.

I really dig the aesthetic and environments, but the level design is really bad. Too many paths that all loop around to each other for no reason, and no visual guidance to help. Its super overwhelming when you get to a new area and there is like 6 paths to take that all look like they lead somewhere.

It's a lot like NaissenceE in terms of architecture, few other games have tried this sort of art style so it's refreshing when it happens.

Yeah, just play the Surge 1,2 if you need a best Souls-like game.
