The Unraveled "Final Attack"
This is not okay. Idk if anyone has even fought this dude yet since gameplay of him doesnt seem to exist online. However this game already has a little to much anti-melee modifiers/enemies but this boss takes it to another level. Although I dont think even a Ranged character could deal with it on the highest difficulty.

For people unaware you know the Archon Commander Creed (Paladin lookin boss) final hoorah attack that pulses damage and eventually full wipes you? Its that but not at 10% HP but more like 25%-30% HP and also it spams full map line attacks that leave a lingering damage effect.

Damage checks are fine. Damage checks while trains drive by and the entire map is on fire (where you need to stand) are not. I hope they make a change to this. Still this post was mostly to vent and see if anyone else has fought him yet. Just dropped the game to easy and moved on since its functionally impossible on the hardest difficulty. Maybe Wingrave ult and the correct damage set-up.

yeah... when i fought him he wiped the floor with me every single time (using niss and kyros)... until i used wingrave wich made the last part of the fight irrelavant (with dmg setup) right now i feel like wingrave is the easy counter to nearly all fights with his ult... beating commander creed, argent hand, dread legion, the unravelled and many other... this has basicly become my tactic for the game cant beat the boss? switch to wingrave easy win or atleast easy way to deal with most mechanics
Few bosses do have a damage check.

Wingrave was mostly my go-to before the changes but ive been maining Grendel while playing the hardest difficulty. While theres been one of 2 fights that are really stupid everything has been completely doable. Except some weird super chest I found early on that spawned like 30 enemies at a time.

Still the issue wasnt the damage check. Even if its way more HP. Normal Archon Creed was fine. Just save a healing, maybe an ult, and your weapon ability or whatever and play around it to burst him down. Id like to do the same with The Unraveled but youd die almost instantly if you stand still and he has WAYYYY to much HP to burst down through being ran over by trains and lit on fire.

Really id like if instead of the final wipe pulse it just stops the attack and you finish the fight normally afterwords. Kinda a big super attack right before the end you simply need to survive.

Many people have beaten him with no problems, some also farmed him over and over for a weapon skin that drops from him rather rarely. Perhaps you should look into improving your build/gear if you can't burst him down or survive his final phase long enough

I can beat him. Hell anyone can if you lower the difficulty. I beat his actual fight just fine and comfortably with multiple heals left before the DPS check. However at higher difficulties the finale is nigh impossible for most characters/builds/playstyles. In a very not engaging or balance way.

Im not failing to roll damage or not preparing for the finale with abilities/healing. I have level 30 weapons, upgraded echoes, etc. Its just a herculean task in an otherwise fair but tough fight designed in a terrible way.

Players shouldnt have to swap difficulties or just Wingrave ult lmao as the only way to conquer a single mechanic of a boss.

Commander Creed has always been soloable and so is The Unraveled.

Do you know that you can switch out your gear? Equip better weapons and accessories, and you can also add so called "Echos", to add additional stats and effects. Also there are Talent and Skillpoints you can spend. You should look into that, since this is one of the easiest bosses and you will need it later for the more difficult ones.

maybe solo able at max lvl before but not when u were supposed to kill him.

Creed was kind of hard if you were below or at the minimum recommended gearscore level but it was still doable - I had him killed with Wingrave at 20 points below the gearscore level after maybe 10 attempts, half of those failed at the DPS race in the end. After you get his tactics he is not that hard. The Unraveled is basically the same boss but with different aoe patterns. Beat him on my third attempt with Silo on the last difficulty level. If you are above the recommended gear score both bosses are a joke. To be fair most bosses are a joke at that point.

Silo? So im assuming you were shootin it up instead of melee. Its so weird how theres is a significant amount more melee weapons/types yet there is also a large amount of mechanics/encounters designed specificly to make melee playstyles absolutely SUFFER.

I already mentioned it but this boss is one example but all the Flora/Firebomb effects/Shadow imbuements and some others are a non-issue for guns. You'll never be in a range where the effects even are since you can play keep away.

Still I didnt and dont think hes completely impossible for everyone. Just most playstyles cant even begin to engage with him on higher difficulties during the finale. Mostly melee playstyles.

No, I play sword and shield Silo with Tooth and Claw. I dislike playing ranged in general.

You can block the blasts if your looking right at him. Doesn't have to even be with the shield.

I'm of the type that wishes there were more mechanics. Like the disappearing floors and bullethell mechanics in the battle with The First, and telegraphs like in Creed's where you have to pay attention to your footing and be aware of where the safe zones will appear. I'm not very far in Frostmarch so I can't say for certain if there's "hard mechanics" further down the line. But I'd love to see a battle focus on difficult mechanics and not just a DPS check. But, I'm just used to battles like these from Wildstar/GW2

Beat him first try with AP/Health Senja with a power level in the middle of his range using Epitaph. I am on the highest difficulty they let me select at game creation. I should check if there is a higher one I can switch to because I have trivialized the game with my build. Even what I know are big hits I can bull through with Senja's showboating mechanic.
