Anyone know about crossplay?

I'm thinking this will primarily be a console game and would transition there as main. Would i still be able to play with pc friends?

Presumably, though not precisely at this moment, since consoles aren't up-to-date with the Echoes update yet.

Cross play isn't anticipated,at least not any time soon. previously it was handled by DE's network infrastructure, and seeing as they aren't in the picture anymore, Airship couldn't use those systems, and they don't have the resources on their own to run a server based game. thats why it was converted to a Peer to Peer game usign Steam API for handle that.
Even when Echos drops on console, there wont be any dedicated servers to handle it
