Steam Deck Recommendations
Hello!

If you are experiencing resolution issues: Outside the game enter settings for Wayfinder, change the "Game Resolution" to 3840x2160.
Also enable the "Set resolution for internal and external display" option.

Then you should be able to modify the in-game settings & resolution properly. This will be fixed with our next patch.

For the best Steam Deck experience we recommend installing the game locally to your Deck and not to a SD card.

Furthermore, if you do need to install to an SD card due to storage constraints, we recommend lowering the resolution to 720p to help with potential stutters.

Due to a new default profile for Deck, players who are updating to 1.0 may experience performance issues after updating to 1.0. Resetting the in-game graphics settings to default will correct this.

Recommended settings for Steam Deck?
I remember reading it's best to install it on SSD but what are the best settings to have it look decent at 40fps?

Yeah, I was at the fast travel point just north of the Market Row trying access my inventory. It did a complete system lock up both times as the menu was sliding in.

And it's happened a third time. Trying to do quest Call of the Void, After trying to enter the portal it locked my Steam Deck up.

Would definitely try validating. Something is obviously up. What are your settings? Does it happen at 720?

After it did it twice. I delete, reinstalled.

All Settings are on low, 720p, Ambient, Shadows Post all Off. Set to Performance.

The third time I wrote about was after doing all that. It plays fine on my PC.

Can't seem to access this post. Is there somewhere with a breakdown of the settings that work best?

I'm playing on an OLED and getting hard system crashes fairly often. Is the only advice still to play in 720p? I play games docked a lot, and that makes things pretty muddy. I have the game installed to the internal SSD btw.

Is this crashing in a specific location or during a specific activity?

Steam Deck user here (LCD). I'm not having this issue at all, and I'm running it of SD card, 1080p default (Med/LoFX) with FSR on Quality.... runs a smooth 30 FPS. Docked and with Monitor/KB+M.

Perhaps this issue is unique to the OLED model and the slightly different APU they used? Granted I just tried at 720p, and it was OK with no FSR/AA. But even 1080p is working.

Do you get a crash log when it crashes?
