my self been ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on this game for some time as it deserved it. such fail.
but 1.0 been pretty darn good tbh. cant lie about that.
still have problems but better than Early accses and the horrible EA launch
Why was it so bad before?
I didn't play it much but a lot of the currently passively gains skins and mounts and such were heavily monetized in a rotating cash shop iirc. Which is essentially a form of FOMO seeing as you wouldn't know when something was going to rotate back in again.
I cant recall if there were Pay to Win elements in the shop or not. The over all consensus was that the cash shop was NOT liked.
That and from my ROUGH understanding, the MMO format was pretty abysmal for the open world zones considering how rather compact they are. I know I was constantly irritated with trying to kill things just for them to be sniped by someone else. While this is still something you can run into in big name MMOs like WoW and FFXIV, its far less often as the zones are so massive, its easy to just move locations a bit to avoid overlap.
I'm sure there was more to it, those are just the only bits I remember, as I didn't play for long back then.
This isn't including PS5 and hopefully Xbox end of month or Xbox game pass
Plus lots of supporter pack purchases. I hope we get to point of another DLC map
Server issues, bugs, poor performance and just too many MTX that was really it. Just standard F2P MMO launch stuff really.
I hope they add some more stuff, if they keep working on this, it could always lead to new waves every now and then.
It's fine, still playable. We had a large decrease in players during the release of nightmare because people waited for nightmare and stopped playing to wait for 'exclusive rewards' but once they found out their saves didn't transfer they just never came back. I was also one of those players. I love the game but had no interest in starting nightmare from scratch. Too many hours spent grinding on my heroic save.
Not that it matters, single-player game and plenty online to play co-op with. Hopefully the xbox release gives some extra juice.
Players buy the game and take 20-100 hours to complete, as expected of a single-player experience.
