Access violation errors.
Hey there,
I'm getting the error:

Unhandled Exception: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION reading address 0x00007ff7afcc6729

with a kernal32 and ntdll error at the end of it as well.

I've reinstalled drivers, repaired windows update, repaired windows itself, checked all RAM and Memory issues, reinstalled NTDLL and DX.... as well as deleted the game itself and reinstalled. Also tried driver rollbacks to nvidia 561.09.

Anyone know of any fixes or having the same issues? My PCs specs are top of the line and I'm not observing any spikes in anything when the crash occurs. It ran perfect the first session and since that first one i havent been able to play.

Do you have administrator privileges on your windows account? Or have you enabled them for the wayfinder executable?

I tried that one a few nights ago and was getting the atlas error with it just looping launching on steam.

Windows account has full admin. Have to have it to redo the ntdll files. I’m really hoping to avoid doing a full windows reinstall.

Hm, if you think there's an issue with your Windows install, just to be clear, have you used DISM (Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool) and SFC (Sytem File Checker) to do spot repairs yet? If not, then it's worth trying.

In general, assuming you're on an up-to-date, and not old, Windows OS, in an elevated Command Prompt (run as admin):

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

then, once that succeeds,

sfc /scannow

Basically, DISM makes sure the SFC has a good Windows image to check against, then SFC checks your Windows system files to see if anything is off, then runs repairs if it notices any issues.

Hmm. I did do Sfc scan I can’t remember if I did DISM. I think I did but I’ll try it again once I get home from work. Based on that it sounds like it may be a full pc reset if I did already do those.

Make sure your virus scanner hasnt quarentineed the wayfinder.exe also as that causes many issues and happens randomly. you need to add the exe to your exceptions list,

So did a clean windows reinstall, same issues. cant find any memory errors/corruptions, fiddled with nvidia control panel. I'm completely lost on it now lmao, even monitoring stuff i cant find any spikes in any activity. May just replace the RAM for ♥♥♥♥♥ and giggles next week, worst to worst itll just be an upgrade.
