as if this trash game wasnt meant to be a mobile game xDDDDD
It doesn't take five seconds to go into the Discord and read that Digital Extremes decided they couldn't handle publishing the game and are currently in an annoying legal procedure to pass of Publishing to the developers, WHOM already HAVE bugfixes and even content updates to push out that they CAN'T because currently they'd have to do that through DE (because of Playstation) and because of the red tape bs they're dealing with.
Look, sugar, EARLY ACCESS means EARLY BETA/ALPHA, if you expect a finished polished game STOP. BUYING. EARLY. ACCESS. AND LEAVE US ALONE WITH YOUR ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
They can release content right now right to steam.. and follow up with PS5 later (not like ps5 even matters now.) This is early access.. for testing. You're going to have different versions of the game for different platforms.. unless you're nuts and want to keep everything running side by side.. and watching your game burn into nothing.
and yes.. it takes much more than 5 seconds for anything discord related. Shame they don't push any of that here.. where people BUY the game... lol
I agree 100% you take a chance buying an early access game. Am I upset they havent done anything in a while sure, but I knew this could happen with an early access game. Im going to hold on and hope they get a solution and we can keep playing. Besides the people that cry and complain are usually the ones that will come back and play anyways. lol
Another lost soul accustomed to and accepting poor development because "That's how things are now days". Early Access Andy, this game started with 25k at it's peak, lost 80% of it's players after 1 month, and another 70% of THOSE players another month after that. There are now less than 100.
Was the game fun for a bit? Sure.. I enjoyed it for a few weeks.. But it's current state is all it'll ever be long term.
times look grim, political issues war etc. and i dont know where the future will go. but boy do i know for 100% this game is not gonna make it. thats certain like the suns rising everday buddy. no one will come back to this. Scamfinders story has been told, and no one liked it.
Many people bought the game KNOWING this would be an "early beta/alpha" experience but even given that the lack of polish Airship has been able to apply since EA launch is incredibly lackluster. Many of these people were well past the point of refunds as of week 1, purely from trying to login to the game despite Airship Syndicates insistence the queues were fixed and to just be patient in queue(conveniently eating up time to get a refund). Now you have many people are quite literally invested in the game rightfully venting their frustration and its poor development.
Blaming DE only goes so far: DE said they were responsible for the login servers BUT Airship admitted the problem was with Airships elastic server code being unable to spin up new servers fast enough AND that their database systems weren't able to handle the load of all the players. I see so much blame being shifted to DE and a startling lack of acknowledgement of airships own failures in what very little is left of the Wayfinder community. At what point will you start to wonder if DE didn't pull out due to malign intent, but rather they saw that Airhship's technical ineptitude was causing Wayfinder to fail to meet contractual goals outline in the publishing agreement? I'm not saying that IS the case, I acknowledge its speculation (no more than arguments made by AS defenders), but that is rational food for thought given the spectacular failures in the games first few months, and things didn't improve post-DE, only got worse despite AS assuring the lack of DE would allow for faster pace of updates. Those who have stuck around hoping that AS would make a turn around know how poorly that has aged.
As for Airship sitting on bugfixes and content updates but being unable to release them because of DE: Airship has demonstrated that they've been able to push out updates and patches post separation from DE, releasing the game biggest bug fix patch a couple weeks after, and multiple events since. They clearly have the means AND capability to push these out but are now suddenly accusing DE of stopping them, and refusing to elaborate why. A common excuse being made on Airships behalf is that legal issues are complicated and can throw in unexpected wrenches, but when even Airship refuses to explain what the sudden change is, things stop passing the sniff test.
When you have such wildly toxic people like Elvone vanguarding defense of AS/Wayfinder and people like the individual I replied to telling people to leave if they're only here to (rightfully might I add) criticize the lack of development and openness from the devs, all while being quick to ignore Airships fault in how things turned out and quick to heap all the blame to DE, it does not make it look like there's much of a rational, level headed defense for how things have turned out.
I get that you all want the game to succeed, some of us do too, but defending these terrible practices from Airship syndicate isn't going to help them turn the game around, its only going to show them the fanbase will make excuses for their poor efforts.
Generally people are not blaming DE for the state of the game except a very small contingent of DE haters that are not really following the development of the game. The current situation of not releasing updates is not because it is impossible to do so but because it is legally ill-advised while the legal proceedings between AS and DE are going on.
Being disappointed is fine but pretending that you bear no responsibility for it when buying into an early access and being toxic towards the developers afterwards when there are technical issues is just being hypocritical.
They're not releasing updates because it's ill-advised? Eh... So we're just going to watch them do nothing for a whole year lol.. I guess they're doing the cyberpunk crunchwrap supreme way of making their game without telling anyone what they're doing.
Like I said before you've been the most toxic person on these forums, and that is factual information. Being upset because people have criticism of developers doing a bad job... that's APART of feedback.. otherwise they'll do nothing, and nothing will change.
I'm sorry what? How is this someones fault for buying into a early access game lol? Man... talk about the copium required to lash out at people who've proven it was the publisher/developer who ruined early access.. not the randoms who decided to say something.
I get this stockholm syndrome vibe all of a sudden... elve blink twice if you need help.
I have yet to have an interaction with you where you didn't come off like the stereotypical netizen who likes to use "facts and logic to defeat their enemies" when in reality you argue over semantics while ignoring what they're real point is, repeating "you're wrong, Ive beat you with facts!" over and over again, occasionally throwing in insults for good measure.
This is exactly what I'm talking about when I say you ignore what other people are saying given I had an entire paragraph about how people were using "legal reasons" to defend the silence and lack of updates to the game even though AS has shown that they've been able and willing to update the game before despite these "legal reasons."
And this is exactly what I meant when I say AS defenders do everything they can to shift the focus away from AS. Anytime someone tries to inspect where things are going wrong from Airships end, you have people trying to shift the blame to DE and customers for "knowingly buying into an unfinished game." It makes it impossible to have a discussion about how much AS is dropping the ball and to hold them accountable for the mistakes they're making with fixing the game.
Also Elveone, you accusing those criticizing the game of being toxic is really disenguine considering you are well known for turning civil discussions hostile. I genuinely wonder if the atmosphere surrounding discussion of the games success/failure would be drastically more civil if you weren't around frequently throwing insults at people simply because they aren't blindly loyal to the game and are trying to discuss why it's failing.
All in all, thank you for proving my points about the issues of trying to discuss the problem points of AS and WF due to toxic fanatics by blindly loyal defenders of the game who try to deflect any blame that should be rightfully placed on AS.
Yeah, right, let's cut out the paragraph that directly says "people are generally not blaming DE" and go straight to blaming me for something I haven't done. Technical issues are on AS but technical issues are expected in early access. Your buying decision and deciding to ignore the warning of technical issues is on you and so is your toxic behaviour towards people.
Pretty rich from a person who joined on a ganging up on a person who doesn't agree with him and insulting others in the process without provocation. If you want to discuss issues then discuss issues. Instead you keep calling people incompetent and toxic.
