Dev essentially gaslighted into a Ban
So after hearing the news about wayfinder and the fact that I had spent $200 as a founder on the exalted I was pretty furious about the changes but realized that's what they needed to do to salvage their project.

However, I did not sign up to support a single player game and was upset with the poor communication demonstrated by the Devs, including SolidAge, as well as their lack of willingness to help other users during this transitional period.

SolidAge countless times handpicked questions in the discord and would not give users a straight answer in regard to refunds except "we are in talks". People were, though a extremely small minority (maybe 4-5 users over the course of a day or two) getting refunds seemingly while those "talks" were happening. However, at the conclusion of said talks all refunds through steam completely halted (this can be checked in the discord thread 'Steam Refunds' if AS hasn't removed the thread entirely). So the Dev in question can dish it, but can't take it essentially.

Moving on, when some of us began asking extremely pointed questions to SolidAge, myself included...at some point he asked about my profile links, to which I responded how is that important and he said "oh it's not". I asked about his profile including the "stupid glasses" and he responded "because I can do what I want with my own body" to which I said "same for my profile links".

A few minutes later a paid moderator who had not been in the discussion for some time came in and cited some server rules to me, that they would "be taking the flak for this" and I was going to be removed from the server. More unprofessionalism from Airship employees - not sure what I was expecting at this point.

It is quite frustrating not only to fund a game you think you're getting and then when you simply want to get out during the transition of genres that you are met with this much unwillingness and overall disrespect.

Here is a link about progress no longer being reset going forward and into F2P - last year (during early access and when transitioning to F2P) and as of the recent news ALL progress is being reset.

I have multiple screens (from when I was in the discord of users getting refunds ranging from anywhere from 10 hours to 70-75 hours) and can provide them if necessary. The entire appeal of the $150 pack was on the premise of a live service, mmo game. Much. if not all of the elements of the founders packs are being baked into the game and even if they weren't would be readily available with mods. I was rooting for AS to make a solid game but the way they have handled this I cannot recommend them as a studio in the slightest going forward. They took an extremely terrible situation and somehow made it worse. They haven't even offered to split the difference with exalted founders $150 and the base game launching at $25.

I didn't have "get scammed by smashing pumpkins" on my 2024 bingo card, but here we are.

Just click the little flag on the store page and report the game on steam.

I doubt they will attempt to refund people, but if they're allowed to change the genre of the game entirely i feel sorry for anybody entering early access in the future.

None of the discord mods are paid they're all voluntary positions. No one pays mods LOL

They lied to their "dear community" for months. They said so themselves, that they worked on this a LOT. So they knew for months where this was heading and they continuously lied to the community and let everyone believe the game will be a MMORPG. This is a CLEAR bait&switch and a clear scam to anyone who bought the packs. SolidAs(s) thinks he's something special but he's not. He's just a run of the mill scam artist.

If that's the case then these discord mods are even worse :)) At least being paid would be an excuse. Doing it on their own free will is just disgusting behavior.

There is only one mod in the wayfinder discord and they are paid.

I'm not sure if you're trying to troll or just completely ignorant on this topic but you can go into the discord and ask Snorerow if they are paid and they have to tell you. They are contracted by Airship Syndicate to mod the server.

They are paid.

Maybe you shouldn't be weighing in on something you have no clue about. Just a thought

Their discord mods are also the ones playing white knight here on the steam forums.

The wayfinder guides or whatever aren't mods but yes...the guides sing nothing but praise.

I'm not sure how people can feel fine knowing that they paid $20 for something and others paid $150 for the exact same product. Wild!

Well, it was always like that. A couple of skins never made any significant difference to the game's experience so you were always overpaying for essentially nothing.

The entire premise of the Exalted Founder's pack is selling exclusive MTX that when sitting in the cities - others can see as well. Additionally, you got multiple season pass tokens and those passes are being baked into the game baseline. Not to mention mods that can just give you whatever because it's an no longer online and requiring authentication. MANY people, I would say the vast majority, would have never purchased such a pack if the game was listed as a Single Player game. This company is charging those Founder's more than Ubisoft's next Assassin's Creed and most think that is absolute insanity. Compare the two....

The higher tier founders packs lose all value and meaning transitioning from an MMO to a singleplayer game.

You lost me at spent $200....

Next time dont trust early access...

If it makes you feel any better, elon musk first marketed the cyber truck at around 60k... then later informed all the people who pre ordered the truck that the cost is now 100k.

Imagine that kind of rip off.

The entire point of a very expensive founder's pack is that you buy it to support the development of the game and that the things included in it are obviously not worth it. The ability to mod the visuals are the same as before and there is nothing inherently different between having a skin in a hub or in a different multiplayer mode - people still see that you supported the game. The founder packs do not lose any value because they did not have any value to begin with.

Feels bad man you shouldn't have been banned!

1: It's completely different. Nobody buys skins in single player games, period. The whole point of skins is to show them off. It made sense from a MMORPG aspect but not anymore.
2: Saying that the ability to mod is the same as before and nothing is different immediately disqualifies you and anything you say from here on out. There is a very clear difference, but I guess white knights are blinded by the shining light of AS.
3: The packs definitely lose value, you're just too blinded or too biased to see it. Clear example you cannot dispute: The founder packs contained seasonal passes. Now we won't get seasonal passes anymore, BUT all the rewards from the passes are avaiable for free for **everyone**. We paid for premium things that became free, in the end everyone gets them free and we ended up with a gap in our pockets. This is not only very unethical but it's a clear bait&switch and a massive scam.
4: Nice try buddy
