New player - Whats the best starting character or does it not really matter?
I'm leaning into Wingrave purely because he has healing but Silo looks pretty fun to be honest. Are there any major disadvantages of any of these characters playing solo?

You get a new character fairly quickly after anyway but I personally prefer Wingrave. Ranged combat in this game is not as satisfying as slashing with melee weapons.

Agreed. Wingrave may seem weak at first, but despite being made for survivability, he can dish out some serious damage, too. Of course, the other two are better for DPS, but take a bit time to survive more than a few hits (at least early on). It does help that you can pretty much just spam his weapon skill with shields as well as his first skill.

I like both Wingrave and Silo, but while Silo is good for damage, until you get a few affinity/talent points, in the beginning you'll find yourself on cooldown quite often. He's quite strong with just his passive skill though.

I chose the rogue and her attacks are swift and agile. I like the dodge and parry gamestyle and the quick movement and her damage is also great so far (playing on difficulty 4/5)

Oh nice. I do like rogue game-play in many games so maybe ill try that.

It doesn't really matter all that much really as you get the other two a few quests in. Unless you are playing on the highest difficulty there isn't really that much of an advantage in choosing Wingrave over the other two characters. I would still recommend trying them all at some point as can play quite differently.

Wingrave is the best starting character imo. He is tanky and has heals.

Another Wingrave recommendation here - I actually started with Silo when the original MMO-lite early access was up and then switched to Venomess who I essentially main now, ranged combat feels good but for ease of access getting in to the game and how well he handles it; Wingrave is the perfect starter. Build for Break and Ability Power.

You can't go wrong with his Light Attack, (Hold) Heavy Attack, Ability 1 combo either. Use that without holding any directional input, you can also chain as many light attacks as you like before the Heavy (Finisher), but completing those steps will always reset the cooldown on your 1 - and that heals you and does solid damage.

Started with Silo, and unless they did any changes to him with the new version he sucks
Gimmicky to use and lacks reward for it
Taunt is a 50|50 if it works, you need to close the gap on a ranged character to use the ult well and the ignite combo is hard to aim while Venomess does the role much smoother

Is challenge a good start if you never played Wayfinder before? Like i don't want it to be too easy and heroic seems like its more for those that played it before or got some game knowledge.
