What you are buying right now is support packs for the Devs while the game is in Early access.
there's no real advantage to the head start. There aren't any leaderboards or competition in the game.
Also, what you are paying for, is essentially a donation to support development, and a pledge to help the devs test the game.
The game will be F2P on full launch.
This market? No different than the release of Warframe in 2012.
Bad reviews about temporary issues have very little impact, regardless if the level of response is warranted or not.
This is a core issue.. and bad reviews kill MMO's.
Unless you are suggesting knowledge of the source of the issue unavailable to the public, and proposing that this will be an unprecedented instance of 'server issues during launch window' event?
It's a self balancing problem. Either the company will rise to demand, or demand will fall to supply. This is not the type of issue that will make or break the game. This is not intended to support the game, or defend the issue, it is just to be realistic about the type of issue being encountered, and the historical response to it in previous cases.
You could be looking at weeks or months worth of server issues.. and most of us know this is just the icing on the cake because this is a free2play.. and if they can't handle such a small amount of users now how are they going to handle hundreds of thousands of free players?
I appreciate your additional information on the subject. That would appear to indicate much bigger issues than being incapable of supporting the current level of interested players. I don't believe it would be controversial to say that leveling out login count/server capacity will be a much faster and easier issue to resolve then those issues indicated at the end of your post.
