What do the twitch drops community coins do?

Are they just a cosmetic for seeing peoples profiles or currency or something else? currently confused about this.

From Friday 12pm ET until Saturday 12pm ET, join in and watch 3 hours of Marbles in streams/channels who have their Twitch Drops active!

You can earn 1 Twitch Drop each Marble Day!

With the drop you will get Community Coins which can be used to purchase a Dev Chest in Marbles on Stream. When you unlock these Chests a random Dev Marble Skin will be added to your account.

You can then equip the skin to your marble. The skins are cosmetic.
