Fatal Error with XSplit Gamecaster
Using it makes Marbles on Stream have a fatal error.
I hope this might help.
[0309/035016.963:ERROR:gpu_child_thread.cc(174)] Exiting GPU process due to errors during initialization
in the debug log file.

The issue is not being generated by Xsplit or Marbles, per se. The error shows pretty clearly that there is an issue with your video card or video driver.

Every other thing runs right. No error. I just got this PC. It's a fresh install of Windows 10. Driver is the newest. XSplit Broadcaster works, Gamecaster doesn't.

What video card are you using and what is the name and version of the video driver you have installed?

Unless you have a special model, your video card should actually be an 8GB model, and the driver quoted is correct and up to date, so thats good news.

The community hub (ie, this forum) is not the best place for troubleshooting so it might be easier to move this discussion to the Studio's Discord server.

So, if you like, login there and give us an overview of the issue with some more detail than you have posted here. What were you doing in MoS when the error appeared? Does the error appear consistently over and over in the same place or when doing the same thing, are you able to reproduce it consistently?

If you can DM a screenshot of the actual full error message the next time it appears, that might also be helpful. Thanks.

Yes, 8 gigs. I was thinking of my old video card in my old PC.

Consistently, yes, all it says is Fatal Error.
If I start XSplit Gamecaster first or last, MoS throws up the Fatal Error window.

The most common cause of the Fatal Error message (which only says that and doesnt have several lines of code along with it) is an incomplete or corrupt installation of Marbles on Stream.

I would recommend a full uninstall, reboot the computer and re-install the game. Try not to do much of anything else on your system while the game goes thru these steps, and see if that helps.

Video issues can arise from things like custom screen resolutions and such, but those Fatal Errors nearly always are much more lengthy and detailed.

I am having the SAME issue! Game worked great ONCE on my setup.

Game works fine when Gamecaster isnt running. Any configuration of trying to load both programs causes marbles to produce "FATAL ERROR"

Marbles will load and run just fine on its own
Gamecaster will load and run fine on its own
Both programs together will cause Marbles to close

I have uninstalled BOTH programs, restarted my PC, tried compatability mode, running as administrator, NOTHING WORKS.

They may simply be incompatible.

We already figured that out. We were hoping for a workaround or possibly it was being looked into and a patch would be issued.

I downloaded and installed Gamecaster and was successful in streaming Marbles with it. No errors at all. It is compatible and you should be able to use it to stream the game without issue. It was reported that streaming was successful once, but now the error appears.

I was able to stream 4 or 5 separate sessions without any problems.

This error is quoted in the title of this thread:

[0309/035016.963:ERROR:gpu_child_thread.cc(174)] Exiting GPU process due to errors during initialization

That is an error pointing to a problem experienced in your video card/driver. Make sure your drivers are updated to the latest available. Nvidia just released a driver update.

You could try adjusting your video resolution in MoS (I use 1280x768), or possibly something like moving the game to a different monitor (in your MoS video settings). See if that does anything.

This could be something the Gamecaster support folks could shed more light on?

MoS works great the first few attempts I try and run it. The only work around I've found is uninstalling MoS, restarting pc, reinstalling and verify file integrity in options for game in library.

All drivers updated. Tried adjusting resolution output and graphics quality. Didn't make a difference.

Hey mate, I think I may have just found our workaround?

Go to Steam -> Settings -> Shader Pre-Caching - >Disable

Once I did this, both programs worked flawlessly!

Excellent news! Good find,..
