Awful port....
If i try to change resolution game just crashes, I am fully aware it's a 2003 game but if games like Doom 3 , half life 2 can have 1920x1080 resolution , so can XIII

There is an "all-in-one" patch available on moddb and probably github and nexus. It is basically a must have to be able to enjoy the game on modern hardware, but it runs great with it and supports most resolutions. The installation takes only a minute

Download this bro, this is what the guy above me is talking about. Only takes a minute and makes the game completely playable.

Even without the mod, editing Defuser.ini and XIII.ini work fine for me on a Windows 10 Desktop, just don't touch display options in game. Here's what I did:

Go to where your game is installed and find a folder named “System”
Once there look for a file named “Defuser.ini”
When you locate it, open it with Notepad++ or similar.

Look for these two lines:
(Line 110)

DesiredFOV=85.000000

DefaultFOV=85.000000

If you have a monitor with a 16:9 ratio change the number to “100.000000”
If your running with a 16:10 try “95.000000” as that seems to work pretty well.
Save and exit.

Next look for a file called “XIII.ini”

Look for entries named:
(Line 99)

FullscreenViewportX=800

FullscreenViewportY=600

And then change the resolution. Try 1920×1080 or 1280x720
Save and exit when your done.

i cant get any of these mods to work....installed the file but get error the code execution cannot proceed because msvcr70.dl was not found any ideas please?

Even if you do get the mod to work the game will just stutter like ♥♥♥♥ because for some reason it's running at 65 fps no matter what.

Maybe the people who made the awful remake should have just fixed up the original game instead, now it's like you get to choose between unplayable frame stutter and an unplayable remake. :D

I found it hilarious how people are going all rage on remake (which is very raw, yes, but still a decent game and very faithful to original), talking how original is much, much better and everyone should play it, but suddenly they realizing that original port is actually horrible console port that required a lots of fixes and it still far from perfect. I'm enjoyed PS2 version back to the days, the only problem is PS2 hardware limitations like controller, 30 fps cap and lower graphics.

I'm running this in 3440x1440 with no problems. No clue what the OP is talking about.

Than you should share this unique perfected version of game with the world, spare a lots of free time for fan who made unofficial patches for years. But seriously, you're just a happy person who can ignore all this problems with HUD, widescreen, mouse settings etc
Ignorance is bliss. Some people can't even see issues with 30 fps caps, no mouse support, no vsync and other problems in bad ports, thinking that their game are perfect with absolutely no issues at all..

I gotta agree with Thunda; I didn't dare try and actually play the game because trying to move the mouse cursor on the main menu was enough to tell me that it was going to be a major problem.

I'm kind of surprised that they didn't try to have a controller work for the game.
