help with deep caves and reaper
Ok, so I managed to beat all bosses before the deep caves. After getting into the game a bit was not difficult.

Now I have:
-tungsten armor
-glacial pickaxe
-weapon-spear: the vulture talon
-health raised to 290
-I also have a nice elderly wand with good bonuses

for trinkets, I have a shiny belt (useful for exploring), vampires gift for movement, item attractor, a fire stone, a spider charm and a balanced foci.

I can easily solo the first 4 bosses without potions. For vulture and pirate, I bring 3 guards with tungsten armor as well (a lot of tungsten armor dropped by raiders lol).

However, I cannot seem to be able to manage the reaper. My weapon do too little damage. After dealing with him for several minutes, its life was still at 75%.

For the previous bosses, I was just going to the next cave, getting some loot and some ore, crafting the next armor/weapon and was easy. However here, the snow cave is already fairly difficult, its very hard to proceed alone like in the other caves, with 3 guards I manage but what can I do with glacial ore? The armor its just a tiny bit better I think. For weapon, the 2 available with glacial ore don't seem much better than vulture talon?

The swamp cave it's even worse, there even with 3 guards its incredibly hard to proceed a tiny bit. I have just unlocket the deep desert cave, but got attacked by something as soon as I entered and immediatly escaped lol.

Any sugegstion?

Glacial ore lets you make the glacial bow, which is a pretty nice bow that hits multiple targets. And I would ditch the tungsten armor, which offers nice defense but lacks useful bonuses. Also ditch the guards, because they make the boss HP a lot higher but won't have enough offense to make up for it. I would also replace the item attractor with something combat-oriented and make sure I have good enchantments on my armor and trinkets. (Don't worry about the foci, though, which have an upgrade once you find an frost stone in the deep glacial cave.)

As for handling the boss itself, I think there's been a good few topics about how not to fear the reaper. Have an open space, have a way to deal with his summons that doesn't distract you from attacking him (glacial bow can help with this), use buffing potions, and stay mobile.
I don't know what weapons you're planning on using, assuming you still want to use the spear I would recommend making the highest tier of spear that you can get, and I would replace the shiny belt for a Manica (Chain Shirt + Vambrace), your Item Attractor for a Clay Gauntlet, and your Spider Charm for a Frozen Soul (Lifeline + Frozen Heart), I would also recommend having a summon of some type, even though you only get one its a bit of extra damage. Also don't bring npc's to boss fights, they don't do enough damage and increase the bosses health. Hope this helps! PS if you don't have a frozen heart to combine with the lifeline, just having the lifeline is still very good, as it prevents lethal damage for 1 hit, giving you a second chance in a fight. also, I always offer to join anyone who needs it, joining with a similarly progressed character or higher if you ever need it.

Oh I didn't know they increase the boss health! Then definitely won't bring them along next time!
I got rid of the shiny belt, item attractor for 2 fight-oriented trinkets for the boos fight. managed to get a carapace dagger, seems pretty good, I can make the ice cave alone without worries, and the desert cave is manageable too. I also upgraded for the glacial armor as I had plenty of glacial ore. I was able to kill the reaper with the team members but was difficult and long, will try again without the team members to see if it's easier. Next is the Cryo queen....

Is there any way to automate clay farming? I would like to automate potion crafting but don't have bottles/glass/sand unless I farm it myself. Also, is there a way to put a cap on the amout of food of a certain type the NPC collect? I got like 2000 weat and I need to build more and more ice boxes otherwise they get filled.

For the wheat you can sell excess to the farmer for a nice chunk of cash, clay is only mined manually iirc, same with sand, but you should be able to make sand from rocks at the alchemy table i believe.
Thanks. I managed also the cryo queen and unlocked banners. I have set up 1 banner for each type both in the reaper and queen arena, and now I can make both of them easily in solo with no potions!

But now next boss seems though! I have set one banner for each type there, but didn't manage to kill him, I didn't even get to 75% of life I think, I did really little damage.

I was looking for suggestions and I read a sugegstion to pump up resilience, and to use Clockwork Heart, however it's hours I am in deep desert cave and I found none. Suggestions?

Try another deep desert cave if you feel like you're having no luck with the drops, if you have an explorer you can also send them on expeditions to get you items, I believe they always come back with a trinket of the biome you sent them to, provided they are successful.
also for the warden, multi-hit weapons or penetrating weapons are the most useful against him, as each of his segments can be hit separately

The pest warden can be a tricky boss. A wide open arena is a huge help as always since you'll really want to dodge, but there's another reason as well: You want to always see where his head is so you have early warning before he charges at you! When he's flying around at high speed is also when you can do the most damage to him. If he starts to coil around you in a slow circle, his defense jumps extremely high so it's likely that your attacks will do 1hp of damage each until he does his final charge towards the center of the circle. It's hard to dodge that attack without taking damage since you have to try and kite him over to one side then take refuge in the tiny available space on the other side of the circle, and the fact that you can barely even damage him during that time means that you ideally want to stay on the 'outside' of his body during his charges whenever possible to avoid ever letting him start the coil attack.

And YES to weapons that can hit him multiple times / in multiple places. There are a few magic weapons around that stage that do great piercing attacks, there's the reaper scythe, and glaives too. In a way this fight is 'easier' than other bosses because you have so much time you can be hitting the boss when he can't hit you, but if you let yourself get trapped in a corner and get hit by his charges he can mess you up fast.

I think he's the boss who drops the venom slasher sword too, which is one of the best melee weapons in the game. It's strong up until incursions and then you can upgrade it to be even stronger. Plus it's strong against him, if you want to farm him to get his other drops after your first victory.

venom slasher is dropped by pest warden.
I'll make the arena larger
I have both the reaper scythe and the cryo queen glaive, i'll try both
I also found suggestion to use the sand knife

Unfortunately, still can't find the Clockwork Heart. I tried another cave, opened many chests, stil no luck. Also, I can't send the explorer in the deep desert until I beat the pest...

Honestly, if you're struggling to find a clockwork heart and are getting discouraged, i wouldn't mind just dropping one for you, just shoot me a message if you'd like:jawagrin:
I finally found it! and with this equip now is easy, the cryo glaive really makes him feel pain! I did it 5 times to farm all drops.

Now I need to do sage and grit... they go too fast and don't get close enough for the cryo glaive... I tried the carapage dagger, but it does really little damage, I only got them down to 60%. What weapon should I use?

ok with reaper scythe I got them to 15% but when low health they change patterns.... I will try a few more times but not easy

I finally did it! Now big problem wih the fallen wizard. First attempt I got him down to 35% using ancient sword. I read to use bink but I am not sure it's the best option...

I got:
-ancient relics
-Challenger's Pauldron
-Clockwork Heart
-Manica
-Balanced Frostfire Foci
-Frozen Soul

-Blink Scepter

I use all the buff potions plus Parisian Steak to increase resilience regen
Blink is mainly important for his death laser, but you can also use boots and hide behind the pillars. He follows the same sequence of attacks so just be ready when it comes.
