However, I have seen a rare issue where Steam thinks it has downloaded the controller configurations required to configure the game, but actually hasn't. It just looks like the default generic controller configuration from inside the control settings. We've contacted Steam about this issue, and they've confirmed the issue is on their end, and they're looking into it. Unfortunately, that's about 2 months ago now, so I wouldn't rely on a fix coming out any time soon.
You can fix this yourself, but it's not super easy. Here are the steps on how to:
1. Close down Steam entirely, since it will ignore the changes you're about to do if you don't.
2. Navigate to the file located at "<Steam folder>\steamapps\workshop\appworkshop_241100.acf" and delete it. This is the file containing the info where it thinks you got the controller configuration. I can't remember right now if this is at your Steam install folder, or the library folder where Necesse is located. Just delete them at both if they're different for you.
3. Start up Steam again, and it should now think the configurations are missing again. You can start up Necesse and it should work.
Hopefully you get it fixed, and I hope you enjoy the game :)
