Settlements with restricted zones can work really well, but balancing storage priorities can take some tweaking. Good luck!
The Animal Keepers are excellent at milking, shearing, and changing apiary frames, but not so great at meat/leather production. I have tried a lot of animal count settings but now I just leave it blank. When my pens are super full of milked and sheared animals (thanks, AK's!), I do my own animal exterminations to get a lot of meat/leather at one time. The 2 males and 2 females (and bunch of babies) that I allow to live will reproduce quickly, the AK's will do fantastic animal husbandry, my pens will fill up again, and I will put on my executioner's hood again ... the circle of life!
Still no pigs. 19 settlers now. Tons of wood, and farming, but looks like i will need to plant more wheat to keep up with the animals. I need to actually set zones for harvesting too instead of letting them go out and pick apples and blueberries halfway across the island
Here's more info nobody asked for ...
My settlement is made up of 9 block wide x 11 block high "sectors" with single vertical roads and triple horizontal roads. I like lots of speedy stone path roads for fast travel. Only a few areas are comprised of multiple sectors in my settlement (like Feng Shui Warehouse and Taco Bell Kitchen).

My 9x11 crop sectors mostly contain 2 crops each, except wheat and sugar beets, which get their own full sectors. But even one full sector does not produce enough wheat for my troughs and windmills. So I also have an extra rotating crop area with multiple sectors where the crops change based on what I need at any given time. Right now, it's wheat for my troughs.
Thanks for reading!
Trying to find a Swamp Cave at the moment. Been to about 4 locations, and the map doesn't say there is anything there. Oh wait...I need a ladder down.
EDIT: I just got to the last part and saw Ahab and Ishmael :0 Moby Deeck reader or Limbus Company player? or you happen to get them by chance?
I am a GameAddict but I read a lot, watch too many movies/TV shows, and like graphic novels, too. I have a lot of setters so I rename them to help me remember their jobs. My other anglers are Hemingway, The Deep, Bassmaster, and Captain Nemo. My guards are Alpha, Beta, Charlie, Delta, Echo ... Don't worry, I won't name all 65 of my settlers! :P

Yodarkore - For me there is a point beyond OCD. Since Fair took the time to code Necesse so we can see the actual happiness over 100, I like to know it. Keeping happiness maxed has helped me maintain 100 when there were unexpected problems with settlers.
btw...HAppy Halloween

BTW if you notice in some biomes there are Pumpkin Heads, Skeletons, etc. walking around.

Thanks.
A lot of that furniture is just stuff I looted from dungeons, or Pirate Camps liek all the gold furniture. IT's just something I add to my looting in there. Especially now that I have the Waystone. MAkes sure I always have an extra few beds available to toss up a room real quick, and use all the furniture from dungeons, and caves.
I am not happy with the layout of my settlements in games like this when I start them for a first run not knowing what to do, and end up kind of a mish mash of stuff unorganized. I suppose here it doesnt' matter too much considering the "building" aspect here is more limited than a side scroller like Terraria
