Struggling with new livestock.

I've managed to get most of the new animals but I'm running into some hitches:

1. I cannot find a boar. I'm not even sure how you get pigs now that the Imported Animal item is gone. I've explored around and never found any in the wild or in villages. No travelling merchant has had any animals for sale.

2. My chickens aren't breeding at all. They lay eggs but my villagers pick them up and shove them in storage. Do the eggs even have anything to do with it?

3. My cattle won't breed any bulls. Just cows.

Any help would be appreciated.

Boars idk yet as I only started playing but chickens need a next that's crafted for 10 wheat in the work bench that allows them to lay fertilized eggs which then hatch into chicks. As for the cows it could be a matter of luck as ive had both cows and bulls born in my farm

1. In a small hotfix/patch I did today, I just increased the chance for Traveling merchant to spawn with animals from 25% to 50%. They will only spawn with pigs and boars if you have defeated Pirate Captain, same as before with imported animals. They will also only spawn with the animals if there are less than 10 females or 2 males on your island. So if there are 15 sows and 0 boars, they will spawn with more sows and boars, but if there are 15 sows and 5 boars they won't. Hopefully, that makes sense :D

2. Chickens need egg nests as Dildozer mentioned. Chickens will then breed and the next egg they lay will be at a nearby egg nest if available, which will then hatch into a small chick.

3. Hotfix I mentioned earlier fixes this issue as well :)
