New challenges/Elder quests question

After the update, the info says, that elder now only offers boss quests, and there are challenges in the adventure journal. I kinda liked that you could farm elder quests by saying you're not ready for a boss quest and get a random mini quest that gave you a reward. Can I still do that?

Elder should still be there. But yes, you cannot turn in quests at him anymore. Maybe some day in the future the quest system will return in a slightly different form :)
If you don't want to see the quest anymore, you can go into the quest log to the right of the inventory and abandon the quest

How do you get the boxing glove gun if quests are no longer available?
