The initial seed is what, 6 characters long?

Spam a few random keys after the initial seed to make something like xfstjvififh and boom, better seeds.

The default seed chooser is meh

Sorry don't have good seed for You, but ...
... it's possible to fill in the river (get some stone to craft landfill, if you place path and fences on top you can get nice bridges)
... or to put river (or lakes) where you want (get iron bucket and pickup the water from where it bothers you, then place it where it looks better)
... also early on having river nearby can be used for faster reaching the edge by boat (until later where its not faster or even not needed)
