I can't remember, I think it is a few hours as you have to do things to find NPC's that can do the roles you need.
I loved Terraria, but it could've been better. Having to do everything yourself didn't help with the lack of purpose.
With Necesse I recommend trying to defeat the 1st boss ASAP. Do the quests the Elder gives you and you will find action. For more action and fun, also increase difficulty and frequency of raids to max. :)
Also: you can start to automate within the first minutes. It just requires you to place down the settlement flag which is in the starter building. After that it gradually adds to what you can automate. The norm being that you do things manually, defeat the next tier boss, automate what you previously did manually. But the basics can go automatic as soon you learn how to automate it and get the villagers to do it.
Don't worry, Necesse basically does everything right that Terraria did wrong.
my only gripe with the game is the Music but there are mods which change music and even replace the art assets as well as add a whole lot of other functions.
if you cant trust your friends to not ruin your experience Necesse adds a lot of things to keep that lonely feeling at bay.
It's not like either of those games anyway besides it being pixelated and having bosses/gear progression, which many games have. If anyone ever says something is "top down terraria" or "2d minecraft," ignore them because it's a stupid comparison.
The NPC system is somewhat similar to Terraria in terms of how you get them to move in, but they have actual utility and aren't just merchants who will attack nearby monsters. They give quests as well and the main quests for killing bosses give some good rewards.
The settlement system in this is the most interesting thing to me, and I really enjoy it.
I like the music, the progression feels good to me, some of the bosses were actually interesting and engaging even after fighting them more than once, the map is very similar to Pixel Piracy's map and that's not a bad thing.
If you have absolutely no interest in the genre of this game, then you will most likely not enjoy it obviously. If you like the genre and just don't like Core Keeper and Terraria, then no one could possibly know if you will like it not because it is not either of those games.
The two main things you will be doing are digging for resources for gear and building houses for your settlers.
Just try it and refund it if you don't like it, you will play enough to come to a decision within 2 hours.
I gave you an answer that I tried to make as unbiased, objective and informative as I could despite the bad wording, and then you ♥♥♥♥♥ about it.
Grow some skin next time you make a post on an open discussion page, especially if you say something stupid or that doesn't make sense, and don't tell the person who answers your question to 'keep it to themselves'.
Necesse hasnt been like that for me... so maybe the OP may come to enjoy Necesse even if they didnt like their two examples. that being said... how did they post in discussions in particular referring to the subject matter of their questions if they dont already own the game and clearly arent trolling everyone? i think the OP may have an ulterior motif for this post.
