Suggestion thread
Just putting this up as a place for people to pose suggestions on what to add or change without leaving a negative review.

Personally I'd like to see:

A portal that lets you craft a recall scroll specific to the coordinates in front of the portal so you can fast travel between your settlements that could be far apart on the world map. (Edit: Just found out about Homestones/Waystones, so nevermind)

More distinct divides in classes along with more powerful bonuses for their armor set each tier. Currently the set bonus for summoners being just +1 summon for all the relevant sets and only a slight increase to summon speed just doesn't feel good when upgrading equipment.

Separate the Foci drops to be from different bosses instead of all from the first boss. This goes along with making the classes feel unique as early on you should want to stick with the class you like the the focus/foci that benefits it, but instead it's just optimal to kill the first boss until you get all of them then craft them together to make the advanced focus. Without adjusting the boss drop rates, this could also just be made to be crafted on the Advanced Workstation which requires you to get through the pirate boss and to deep caves. Another alternative would be to make it so the combined foci gives a smaller bonus overall but still has no negatives compared to the bonus the single foci gives along with the negative.

Adjusted boat movement so that it propels forward in short bursts to feel more like paddling in a boat.

A separate hotkey for quick-use of food and potions instead of just one key drinking one of every potion I have as well as eating some food.

A reason to travel to more than one of each island. Currently it feels like all you need is the starting forest island, a snow island, a swamp island, a desert island, a pirate island, a dungeon island, and maybe one village. Rare materials that give certain upgrades or trinkets and are either found in small amounts on every island or as a rare mini-biome. Something like gems that could be added to equipment similar to enchantments but offer class-specific bonuses such as Amethyst being another +1 max summons when added to a summoning staff, +10% projectile speed on spell staves, Ruby adding +10% damage and a fire effect to melee weapons or ranged weapons, Emerald adding +1 projectile, etc.

Adding to that, a lot of people love the chance to optimize things, so having certain plants grow faster or only grow at all on certain islands would be nice to see as well as making certain potions and recipes that require ingredients from several islands for the best buffs would be a bigger effort versus reward exchange to see and give even more reason to start a settlement on each island.

Might be more difficult to implement, but NPC travel between your settlements would mean you could get a Trading work category on NPCs and have them set to go out from their home settlement to another settlement, load up on a specific item or set of items in the other settlement and bring them back home to unload. Rather than utilizing the existing settlement inventory it'll probably be easier to introduce something like crafting a Trading Post with specific slots for Import and Export that non-trading NPCs could interact with.

regarding the NPC travel to get a trading work im wondering if the travelling merchant if being able to hire one (requires some sort of economy in your town like cooked products or making weapons or something maybe?)

one thing i would love to see is some more nature themed walls, floors and pathing. i tried to make a dirt path with the shovel early on but the grass overtook and eventually grew back . maybe something like tent walls (1x leather and x amount of wood for 11 (i beleive enough for a 2x2 area covered and a hole for the door) , tent flap (just leather) , leaf floor (from cutting trees down) , dirt path (special shovel to make them) and such.

a settlement option underground but unlike the surface you use it to grow various mushrooms (for potions mainly but other meals too) , spider farm (to gather silk which could be used for making clothing , bows and other things) and monster hunters (roam around fighting monsters)
