Graphics
I think that with better graphics and a cleaner less neon pallet, this game would hit off so well. I know its been in early access for years, but from what I've seen its very playable. The only thing that is stopping me and I assume many others is the tile sprites and sprites overall really. They just don't look nice, and for me its a bit factor in if I want to play a sandbox game. Whatever happens though, the game itself looks pretty amazing and best of luck to the dev!

I'm a huge fan of the graphics, they are super pleasant and calming. It really adds to the atmosphere of the game in my opinion

Each to their own, but having clean graphics with a uniform pallet that isnt so saturated is something that is relatively easy to fix and brings in a lot of money for the devs because a lot of players make an opinion of a game based off of its appearance. I see it as an easy fix that i would love to see and im sure that would ghet many more into the game

Graphics are nice like it.

Tons of players play too Minecraft; one worst graphic game ever, and they never complained about that because core game is very good.

No, minecraft graphics are actually really well received by a majority of players, the pallet is nice and if you dont like it, there are a bunch of different texture packs from minecraft, aswell as many independent creators, there are also shader packs as well. To say that minecraft has one of the worst graphics ever really doesnt prove your insight much at all. This game doesnt have much detailing on any of the sprites and the colour pallet is too saturated, ontop of that there are no shadows, all of these combined make the game very primitive and not so nice to look at, the base of the sprites are there, it just seems as if they are not finished, as the game hasnt officially released I wouldnt be surprised if retouching graphics were at the end of the to do list, but for a game that was said to release 3 years ago, It would give the game more momentum if the appearance of the game play was worked on more.

So you defend Minecraft's graphics by... talking about how good unofficial, fanmade textures for it are? Ok... honestly Minecraft's base graphics are pretty mediocre. I'm not going to say Necesse's graphics are the prettiest, either, but I'd say they're not much worse than Minecraft's. Also, there are shadows in the game, you probably just weren't paying attention to them, in which case I don't blame you, I just noticed them yesterday too :jokeofrogue:

Minecraft's base graphics are incredible. If you dont agree then you are in the minority that believes that, however I was simply saying that minecraft has a lot more graphics options. Comparing one of the most successful games to an indie project much like this isnt fair at all. I was only mentioning that because they brought it up. There are shadows in the game but not very advanced shadows or for entities, shadows make a game look a lot nicer. That being said, after buying and loading up the game, the pallet isnt as bad as shown in the showcase, its defiantly playable and looks a lot better than i make it out to be, but working on the sprites and maybe improving shadows would make the game all the more successful.

Some major improvements in graphics would most certainly increase the potential for a buy from most customers. Everyone have an opinion on graphics and that's always welcome, however, it's not about the individual opinion, but the general opinion. it doesn't take long to see a correlation between better graphics and a increase in sales e.g. Better sprites, colors, shadows, effects. Games like Noita sells because of the nice presentation on the Steam Front Page, Minecraft sells because of the popularity, brand and it was an original idea at the time.

Something as basic as shadows would have an huge impact on the atmosphere; and I am not saying it's necessary - just that it would be nice and the general customer would get a better first impression on it. I think it's called First impression bias in behavioral science.

The clearness and how easy it is on your eyes to distinguish between different things on the screen is more important in a game like this in my opinion. There's always room for improvement as long as it doesn't somehow make things worse.

Maybe ask the developer to let you do pixel renders of the game's visual by overlaying the game image with certain filters to get different sort of looks?

Honestly i've played many games which has simple / crappy graphics but nessese just looks way too ugly. It has no charm in its looks and not a single pleasing texture to look at. I hope they overhaul the textures. Don't get me wrong the game is outstanding in its gameplay but graphics and just abhorrent. :DSTwilson:

Hey if you're volunteering to do the graphics yourself, then go right ahead. Otherwise you should try to understand that it's a single person working on this game, and there are bigger things to work on than graphics.
