How will reputation/rank system work? Will they rank up if they kill a lot of the other faction or player character?
You can sneak around and steal from places? Can you be caught for stealing & is there some sort of punishment system?
This game sounds amazing and ambitious which is a breath of fresh air.
The Reputation system will work similar in Grim Dawn(An ARPG Game like Diablo). You gonna have a progress bar for each faction, and when you kill some faction mob, or destroys any faction building, the progress increase. So, for instance, lets say that when you kill 50 mobs of a specific faction, you gain 500 rep points, and with these points you reach the "Hatred" part of the progress bar. When you reach "Hatred" with that faction, elite faction mobs have a chance to spawn, and when you reach the last level on the progress bar(the name for this level can be "Nemesis"), Nemesis mobs will spawn, and these mobs will have a very! very! very! good loot. You get it?
We have plans to launch this system on the first update after game's launching.
And for now we have only a little draft about the "Steal System". For now, we see this system as something like: Factions can assault your fort to steal resources, and the players can steal resources from faction buildings.
Any feedback about the game will be REALLY welcome. Because we want to create a community-driven game.
VERY COOL! thank you for explaining that I really hope you go full KOJIMA and make faction bosses really cool and memorable or better yet alliances with cool faction bosses would be neat too, there is so much interesting directions you can take your game, I can't wait to buy it!.
