Is it possible to do Brutal Mazes before rebirth?

I'm on the second continent running through the quests but the difficulty jump for the brutal mazes is just insane. Is it even possible to do them without doing some rebirth runs?

Will full +6 mythic items level 78 mace shield build, close to 80% dodge I couldn't.
I think you need to do the first rebirth(upgrade items to superior) for the insane health boost and the extra stats.

I'm thinking it's not possible without at least one rebirth. The HP on the brutals in the mazes is far and above anything encountered on a first playthrough and I've yet to see any equipment that would put me on par. It would make sense since the rebirth mechanic seems to be a core end game feature.
