e.g if you leave the eggs alone will they hatch or go off?
Would have liked to kill a guard and hide the body, removing that patroller from the game (or untill you got spotted and the alarm rang out). These guys never seem to vanish though, extra guards on patrol are there permantly (even though it says next couple of days dont go out or be very careful not to be spotted 7 days later still extra guards and patrollers).
Food issue had me restart (again).
"Miss one day and they're dead" - maybe at the "survival" or a cranked up new game + they do that, but even the harder-than-standard defence-focused mission didn't have the pigs die in one day if they weren't fed.
Also they don't need to be fed every day - but they (ideally) need to have food available to eat every day. I've often had it where I've given them a bunch of food one day (say half a bar), which then gradually goes down over several days. Once the bar is completely empty they'll start to get hungry, but until then they're fine.
I think the rate they produce fertiliser is partially dependent not just on quantity, but the type of food - not that it matters since it's usually easy to get more fertiliser than you can actually usefully use. But I'd definitely aim to give them slop unless they're starving and you don't have any (and can't make any).
That said, totally agree that chickens are more important - since they lay eggs pretty much daily if you feed them well, whereas you don't need all the fertiliser the pigs create. Pigs do however become a useful source of "emergency food" if need be - just make sure to slaughter them while they're healthy (and not starving) if you want to get a decent amount of meat out of them!
Its a bug thats going to ruin my campaing :s
I increased the Food Level bar while feeding my pigs during the daytime of Day 12.
And then in the following days, I noticed something is wrong: the Food Level bar was not consumed and my pigs were starving. Screen shot:

Eventually, in the morning of Day 19, my pigs died.
Now I have to start over from Day 12. :/
Devs, please fix the bug. Thanks.
The workaround I found is keeping the Food Level bar empty. That requires you to check your pigs a bit more frequently though.
Definitely looks like a nasty bug if there's a food bar and they're still "starving". I've never seen it but people are obviously getting it now for some reason (maybe the game has issues with more modern hardware?, which seems really dodgy).
