Can't progress

Hi, I am stuck a level 4 as I have an outstanding task, 'breed a level 2 horse'. How do I do this? I'm new to the game, any info is appreciated.

The star with the number is the level of your horse. Depending on the stud you chose to breed your horse with, you have a chance of getting a lvl 2 foal.

Thanks for replying. I think I already have a level two foal, but as I can't progress the game it does not develop and I can't race with it. Have I done something wrong?

And yes, my foal is Level 2, so why doesn't it tick the box? I am literally stuck apart from doing more races

If you got the foal before you got the mission to breed a lvl 2 foal, it doesn't count. You have a breed for a lvl 2 foal again. As for aging up the foal, you first need to make sure you have an extra stable or else you won't be able to age it (you can buy stables in the manage section). When you go visit your nurturing mare, you have the option to either feed the foal, which will give it extra stat points in exchange for feed (the same items you use to train your horses), or automatically skip to adult.
