Little rant about content

This game needs something to justify costing so much.

You have betting, creating a horse which you cant later breed, quick racing which does nothing really, multiplayer is somewhat fun and adding to price. BUT there is no point to breed maxed out low grade horse here, on mobile there were live events so grinding for perfect foal was real. I just spent like hour trying to breed perfect 42 scoring grade 1 foal, I did that, I was really happy as it has nice colouring to add to it, but, what can I do wtih it except for quick racing (which doesnt transfer money to story mode). We should have live events, and live events with multiplayer feature that MUST have grading system (just like mobile has, events allow you to use horse with certain grade, nothing higher and nothing lower) and it also must provide some kind of reward from it (limited edition saddles, bridles etc).
Customization is nice, but there should more into genetic system (as game has now more room in engine to calculate such thing), ability to inherit genes is a must (irl you can breed bay and bay and get chestnut, bay or black but if you breed 2 chestnuts you will have chestnut. Also horse can be both rabicano and tobiano. You cant have 2 non grey horses and pop grey out of thin air and it does happen in game a lot).
This is just a thought but having ability to customize parts of equipment would be neat too (diffrent coloured stirrup leathers, diffrent bit, or maybe no bit whatsoever if its just a game and it doesnt have to follow real life rules, adding fuzz to noseband etc)
I hope that developers will think about that price and little content we got. Also short story line is not too good. Now you can literally finish the story line in like 4 days. I really think game has potential on pc, but lets hope that developers actually will give us more information on whats coming next and what are their plans
On positive note game runs extremly smooth and so far didnt glitch out even once. But as now there is more calculating power we should be able to have some pasture to see all our mares in it and have ability to interact with horses. As right now it feels like flat mobile game but played with mouse and keyboard

I admit to the live races. The multiplayer races dont makes sense to me at this point now.

I agree, the biggest thing I feel is missing is a connection to multiplayer. A race system basically the same as story mode but allowing players to hop in and out and win would keep the motivation going to grind hours and hours to get the perfect horse.

Would also be suuuuper cool to be able to put my horses out there to have someone breed with if I had a cool color combination or something. Like register a horse to be on the multiplayer stud farm or something

Studs would be really great idea. Lets make it HARD to get horse above rank 10. Like grinding for best of best, offering studs and ability to inherit colours would be awsome

Also another weakness of max stat horses, getting capped means no bets, like duh yes they will but is there really no actual reason beyond satisfaction to have max stat horses?

If the devs pay attention to this feedback and then actually do a patch that changes the gameplay in response, then and only then will the game be worth part of its value. But as the very same game is about to come out on PS4 and loads of kids will be buying it you can guarantee nothing will be done at all to make this game any better.

And when you hear people say that the free mobile game is actually better than this £35 game? That's well out of order.

I did notice lack of activity on forum here on steam. All I do is hope that they spend their recources to improve game right away. Hope is a mother of stupid ppl say tho

I do believe that the Devs have already stated that there will be more content and features added In over time however they did not really say what new content and features will be added. I will say that turf should also added as a racetrack. Horses do race on both dirt & turf.

I was interested in this title but definately will hold off until they make the game worth its price as per the feedback in this thread, if the devs can fix that and move it beyond a horse creator, and have some real value for breeding and real value for multiplayer (where i think the longer life of the game will be if improved upon) than the story mode. Then i might be interested in buying the game. At this point in time, wait for a sale a year later. I would like to add, i do prefer buy whole game than the f2p model, it just seems the missed the mark but not by much, so hopefully they can rectify that.

DazaKiwi I think your missing out on a great game because despite the high price tag It carries this game has a lot of content to offer. It may not be as deep In content like Starters Orders 7 is but the fact It is more like arcade style Is what makes this game standout. Talking about breeding Starters Orders 7 breeding is far from being perfect there may be more content In Starters Orders 7 but the game does crash quite often when compared to Rival Stars.

I would buy this now and help support It. If you want a feature added In then buy It. Rival Stars has much more to offer then Starters Orders 7 currently has In both gameplay & content. One other thing is that starters Orders 7 is feature complete so no more features will be added but with Rival Stars there will be more features & content added In over time keep that In mind.

The game currently does include both dirt and turf tracks. :)

I would see these features added Into the Game

1.Stakes races for example Golden Eagle Stakes 2 Yrs up $500,000. stakes Races would be available at level 3 Amounts would Be different then used on here
2. Having more horses to buy then Just 1 on the Market. You might have like 6 or 8 horses on the Market
3. Add In a auction where you might get lucky and get a prized horse. The Auction wouldn't become available until after level 4 when you have enough money to buy them.
4. Allow us to edit files like make them XML files so we can change or add races and Edit Horses names and add In our own and allow us to add In horse races.

This is just an arcade like existing mobile game that has been put on the consoles and Steam to try to make some money for little additional work. Expect that and you wont be disappointed.

But you cannot possibly expect the devs to do any more work on this game despite what they say. Because if they had any intention of making this game more interesting they would have done that before they sold it.

They will take this game , add one new thing from their 'list'and bring it out again next year to try to make lots more money from you lot again for practically the same game. Seeing this a lot recently. They may say they are 'listening' but that means nothing without action and there won't be any action.

It is up to you but I would recommend not to waste your good money on things that are not worth it. It sends the devs a bad message that their strategy is working and it encourages them to do practically nothing again next time.

A very quick search online would have told you that this game is exactly the same as a mobile game selling for nothing (ie it is free to play). So you have just given the devs £35 for a free game.

ME TOO! Inc the ability to edit an xml file, and to have the horses we breed to be able to be shared.

And the ability to race in the quick race with our own choice of our own raised horse. It's still under the profile so it should be able to do that?
