Green Boots: Simple Fashion Statement or Marker of Death?
This is actually starting to drive me nuts. So it all started with a pig farmer who had green boots. I marked him for death. It made a note of how his boots were "stolen". Next day a pop idol was gaining popularity with her "new green boots". I also marked her for death as that days parameters didn't really give me a choice. Again the boots "disappeared". Then the next day a surfer who did events for charity in costumes was noted to be wearing, you guessed it, a pair of green boots. Again, due to not having a choice with the rules I had to mark him for death. The boots were "lost at sea". Then three days later, a homeless man who hadn't had any footware for years found a pair of green boots washed up on the shore causing him to devote himself to marine conservation as "the sea truly giveth all".


That is where I am at as I am making this post. And this time, the parameters are not forcing me to mark this profile for death. I have a choice: let this man live or kill him for the sole purpose of I am starting to think these boots are some SCP and letting anyone keep them will lead to disastrous consequences. They must kill their wearer in some Final Destination accident or they unleash untold destruction.

I have googled this and looked everywhere: I can't find any mention of these boots on reddit, in other discussions here, in a wiki, nothing. I even risked spoiling the game by looking up the secret achievements and there's NOTHING that says anything about a pair of green boots. Is this just some running gag? Do these boots have any significance?

We have different small sub-plots in the game. Meaning that your choices of keeping someone alive or letting them die will carry on the plot. The boots are one of them. Seems like the boots may be cursed. ;)

I have deliberately killed everyone with the boots after the pop idol picked them up in my game. I was curious to see if I could give the boots a reputation of being cursed in-universe, but I think I ran into them too late because they never showed up again after the homeless guy got them. Made me sad.

I killed everyone with the boots by sheer coincidence and i thought that was neat. In mine they were washed out to sea, but I never saw them after that because it was my first time playing and I was doing the "follow the rules" playthrough. So that was about the time when humanity was dying out and I got less profiles. I'm hoping I see them again on another playthough and can actually keep enough people alive to see them again.

I had a similar situation with a piece of Jewelry. I decided to curse the f out of it, and kill anyone who'd dare wear it >:3
