Just to confirm as Troshnak mentioned are you using the mouse wheel to scroll through your guns? If you have and the problem still persists can you please send us a video of this happening so we can pass this on to the team for them to look into?

We're glad to hear the issue is resolved (hopefully).
You're able to pick up a second weapon when using the pistol during the tutorial start of the game, you do not drop the pistol so you would have both.
It may also prompt you how to cycle through the weapons when picking these up also but this could easily be missed.
