Thanks for getting in touch with us - sorry to hear you're having issues with your key rebinding in Trepang2.
As @|234|>3|2 mentioned, you will need to remap the allocated button first to a free key to then rebind the action you want to your chosen key.
We really appreciate any and all feedback from our players and will be sure to make the information you have all provided over to the team for consideration.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding in the meantime.
Please don't hesitate to reach out in the future should you have any further queries.
Regards,
Team17 Support
So, still no fix? Damn dude…
Thanks for getting in touch with us.
If you're experiencing the same or a similar issue can you please make sure that you are first remapping the allocated button to a free key to then rebind the action you want to your chosen key?
If the issue continues please can you share some further information on exactly what is happening and what you're trying to rebind from and to?
Get back to us when you can.
Regards,
Team17 Support
This is NOT a solution, it's still a massive pain, particularly for a disabled gamer like myself who always makes extensive re-bindings
You need to do one of two things (or preferably both):
1. Enable the user to unbind any key (i.e. set it to 'None')
a. Maybe even have an 'unbind all' function
2. Make it so that when the user tries to bind a key to another key that's already bound, the originally bound key becomes unbound instead of just not allowing it.
a. Any feedback message should be a warning about losing the original binding,
not a big red [YOU CAN'T DO THIS]. Check virtually EVERY FPS game that has
ever had ANY success, THIS is how key bindings are managed. I have literally
NEVER seen any developer do what you've done here, it is atrocious.
Guys, this is FPS gaming UEX one-O-Freekin-one, come on, fix your shizmit....
While we're waiting for you to fix this P1 usability defect (i.e. one that causes people to not play the game and ask for refunds), at least tell us where the config file with key bindings is located so we can clear the bindings that way - give us a work-around, make this issue a P2...
