Plus the new weapons feels awesome. The sword is a bit tricky to use but is damn satisfying.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not on the OP's level of frustration. This DLC was cheap for all the cool general stuff the team and game has done since launch, and even if I'm disappointed, there's still some clear work here going on in even the smaller stuff like new music tracks, and voice acting, etc. Even on the back of this DLC releasing, its cool they still dumped a huge free pile of content with it as well with the merc maker. Its just... damn I really wanted more eerie and crazy stuff going on in the campaign, and more dynamics with the creepy projects, cycle, etc.
There's already a thread talking about how one of the original stated goals behind the DLC was to expand upon the game's ending, which just outright didn't happen.
That's the big thing I was looking forward to, and they either changed plans early on, or cut it out somewhere mid-development...
The new guns are a little less than OK. The assets are great, but the actual balancing leaves them without a niche in the existing roster.
I tend to just leave them on the floor on the rare occasion I kill an enemy that spawned with them during the simulator levels.
At least the sword doesn't have that issue, although I don't really use it much either, since it's typically too risk, ESPECIALLY on the top two difficulties (although to be fair, those should be reworked or cut anyway, since they're not playable with most weapons on the roster lol).
New, non-sword execution animations are just a downright 0/10 imo.
Already made a whole thread about that, but considering the relative lack of traction it got, I'm assuming they're here to stay, with no option to turn them off.
All that being said, I think the biggest misstep was actually on the side of marketing.
This DLC would've been appreciated much more had it been announced closer to it's release, with less hype around it and more accurate communication around what it would actually contain.
Also maybe an option to selectively turn on or off the DLC content, depending on personal preference.
The sword deflects bullets while in focus (slowmo) mode.
The dlc didn't scratch the itch I was expecting for story
