There's some expansion I guess if you think about fleshing/spelling out for a playthrough more details, in terms of the fact that you get some heavy foreshadowing to how evil your own organization is, killing survivors, then changing the tune so readily to calling them traitors, then Dr. Emerson, aka "95", has some more dialogue about the whole breaking the cycle stuff, if you wait and don't do your job with exploding him up, he'll continue talking for a bit, and of course you walked pass those rooms where you can see the "brainwashing" TV screens but at the same time they're saying stuff that sounds like they're trying to shake the subjects out from their own brainwashing ('you are human', 'you have free will', which isn't probably what your own organization really wants to encourage, but want to encourage them being disposable easily controllable super soldiers who'll self-terminate at the merest suggestion)
I don't quite think it's fair to say they're side missions, given how side missions work in Trepang2 where they can be more like a small arena where you fight waves, these were scripted linear story-driven missions with fun setpieces just like many of the main missions, it's just they were over "too soon" in that time flies while having fun.
I get it, it's kind of sad that it's now "over again", but hey, it was fun while it lasted, eh?
Kind of want to replay the entire game but wipe my save to see where these DLC missions would unlock over a natural playthrough, but man, I vaguely remember cheats also being wiped? Don't want to try and unlock those again...
Also, Sword.
(And I guess cool revolvers to dual wield, & SMG2.0 with taser and more grenade types?)

Edits: proper links and stuff
and yeah, I'm so glad you actually gave us links to the pages.
especially when they themselves consider the new missions as side missions now, when previously they were "story missions"
also thanks for the steam points, appreciate it
To me this feels like a storm in a teacup, that will blow over in years, months even, like we have had so many cool games over decades where developers had massive high ambitions, told people about it, then the realities of development complications, time, money, complexities-- Reality hits, and you have to scale back, always, and then sure many will be disappointed, you have you Fables or Halo 2's and many more scaled back experiences, yet, looking at the games that we got, there's still so much merit to many of those.
I didn't remember the original store page description and so I went in with "fresh eyes", and to me they were fun solid linear story-driven scripted missions that fit neatly with the rest of the game, more Trepang2 to round out the experience, especially given how people were griping when it came out that it was "too short" and lacked main missions, these are solid ones that easily fit the mold to flow from the rest in my opinion.
Also worth considering, I don't think I've seen the devs say that this is it, that after this they are moving on, we don't know if they're making more, a Trepang3 for your post-ending world needs (post-ending content might have been tricky for a simple DLC to incorporate into the current framework given the context of the safehouse and mission selection and all).
It was 8€ and probably similar in price in £/$, if you got the season pass you got for I think less than 9€/£/$ 2 missions (much bigger than side missions, remember OG side missions like just hacking servers and seeing literal arcadey wave counter HUD elements like you're playing another horde mode?), a sword (new mechanics/animations/system/feel to the arsenal), revolvers, MG, 3 new grenades, Survival mode and some other simulation map stuff.
Is that really such a bad deal? Did we get robbed?
Like I get it, more Trepang2, it seems the underlying tone in all comments from people here & elsewhere is we all like the game and want more, and many had high hopes and their imaginations maybe ran a bit wild, but is that a negative to the actual missions we got?
"new story missions to expand onto the ending" isn't what we got. The new missions are way better than slop side missions like the other ones were, but that doesn't change the fact that they lied.
The dlc is fun. The dlc is worth its value at it's current stage. My issue isn't "oh we didn't get that much!!" it's that we were promised and told we would get an expansion to the main story, even if just a few missions, and what we actually got was... another sector of the syndicate/related to the syndicate exists, and another thing that i won't say because I don't wanna accidentally spoil people just browsing through
My point is just: They said we were getting an expansion to the ending of the main story. The new missions do not do that, and they changed it to not show that anymore.
