Rage difficulty too easy
i beat "prologue" on Rage, deathless in only 43 minutes (this includes all attempts). i only have a total of 2 or so hours on this game so its not like ive practiced alot

here are the main problems that make rage mode too easy

////////////////////////////////
- focus and cloak

getting focus and cloak is way too easy, and using these two powers in conjunction makes any challenge the game mightve had trivial. ever in trouble? just cloak away to a random corner and you'll be safe and sound. or just use focus to get easy headshots on everyone.

////////////////////////////////
- grabbing enemies

enemies dont even fight back unless you "damage" one, meaning instant kill headshots dont trigger enemies attacking you. you can clear entire rooms with just one hostage, thats how busted it is. ontop of this you can THROW THE HOSTAGE as a GRENADE. its ridiculous

////////////////////////////////
- enemy AI sucks

they never intelligently push the player, so its easy to sit in a corner, cloak, pop out and kill one, and go back to your corner. make the enemy ai constantly spam grenades and ruthlessly pursue and flank or something.

////////////////////////////////
- most combat sections skippable

you can literally run past half of the combat sections by using cloak, focus, and hostage taking. its stupid

////////////////////////////////
- slide too powerful

ever a hallway packed tightly with enemies? just press a single button to fly into them and knock them over, leaving them defenseless as you just shoot them in the head

////////////////////////////////
- too many pickups

on the difficulty that self proclaims "only sick and twisted people will play this", it offers you healthkits, ammo, and armor every other room to fully bounce back from what should be a fatal mistake. make pickups give you less, or maybe no pickups at all

////////////////////////////////
- player guns do too much damage

you can instantly kill multiple enemies with one blast from a shotgun and kill every other enemy in 1 to 2 shots with your pistol. i feel like for a "so hard its a joke" difficulty it should actually be hard to kill things, but it's not

////////////////////////////////
- final boss too easy

you can sit behind boxes and just dome him with the DMR or assault rifle (idk what it is) and he either wont shoot or he'll waste all his ammo while you're in cover, giving you ample time to attack while he's reloading. make him relentlessly pursue you and have wallhacks or something.

////////////////////////////////
- overpowered attachments

for an already easy difficulty, the silencer makes it even more trivial than it already is, allowing you to dome multiple guys without being spotted by everyone else. nerf silencer in rage mode. i havent used anything but the silencer so i dont have an opinion on the other ones

////////////////////////////////
- grenades overpowered

the final fight, which should be the ultimate challenge of the prologue, is trivialized by throwing well timed grenades at elevators. i beat it the first time i got there during my deathless attempts.

i think that's enough. i get it, op looks pretentious and all that stuff for calling rage mode a breeze. still, once you shrug off this terrible first impression, it's harmless random feedback from another nobody.

frankly, idc about the op's feelings here. the tricks presented here are worthwhile matters to discuss on their own imo. rage mode's supposed to be insane and i relate to some of the cheese which has been presented, despite not mastering rage mode at all.

yes, i enjoy playing very difficult games. this is not one of those very difficult games sadly, and that's why i made this post. maybe you should appreciate that i enjoy playing very hard games? :3

by the way i very rarely play videogames nowadays because they're for losers, i just beat this game on rage difficulty because a friend challenged me :) id say beating rage mode without dying in 44 minutes of attempts is pretty skillful, yeah?

Ah, so I see your definition of "truth" is about as skewed as your perception of skill. It's rather amusing how you continue to dig yourself into a hole while weeding out nonexistent compliments to puff up your fragile ego.

You enjoy playing very difficult games? Well, congratulations! Welcome to the club shared by millions of other gamers who challenge themselves without feeling the need to announce it on forums. Your self-proclaimed superiority is not all that groundbreaking or noteworthy, as much as you'd like to think otherwise.

As for beating the game on rage difficulty because a friend challenged you, it's amazing how something as trivial as a friendly dare seems to hold such weight in your life, prompting you to parade it around as if it just earned you a Nobel Prize!

And sure, if it makes you feel better, we can acknowledge the 44 minutes of attempts as "skillful" - as skillful as fishing for compliments in forums can be, which is to say, not skillful at all.

So, while you keep boasting about your grand non-achievements, the rest of us "losers" who play video games will continue to enjoy them as they were intended, relishing the fun factor that seems to have eluded you. Have fun grasping at your imaginary superiority. I'm sure it'll keep you company at night. :)

And now we get to the juicy core of your convoluted saga of hypocrisy. So apparently, you claim that video games are "for losers," yet a simple click on your profile reveals that you spend a non-trivial amount of time on forums. Could it be that you possess a secret admiration for the pastime you so confidently deem "loser" territory? How very fascinating!

I mean seriously, let's take a moment to discuss the perplexing paradox that is your online persona. On one hand, we have the assertive video game elitist basking in the glow of their self-proclaimed "achievements," while on the other hand, we have a self-righteous individual bent on disparaging the very activity they ostensibly engage in.

Honestly, it sounds like someone is having a hard time justifying their own love for video games while simultaneously trying to appear "above it all." That's a tough tightrope to walk, my friend. And with each new falsehood and blatant hypocrisy, your credibility just slips further and further away.

Good luck navigating your twisted maze of lies and contradictions. I'd suggest picking up a mirror if you haven't already ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

i dont think ive said once that im superior for playing on rage mode i just said it was too easy. i think you feel inferior and are now massively projecting. theres no other explanation as to why youd think im saying im superior other than you feel inferior

as such, im awarding your comments so you can buy a shiny sticker to distract you from your weird inferiority complex. i hope it helps. heres this resource too

btw one click on my profile reveals that even after 8 years on steam i only have a few forum posts :)

Ah yes, the classic deflection tactic – accusing others of projection when caught in a web of inconsistencies. Honestly, it's like watching a poorly written soap opera at this point.

So you claim you've never said you're superior for playing on rage mode, and yet you specifically stated that beating it without dying is "pretty skillful, yeah?", followed by a plethora of comments asserting how easy the game is for you. Sounds a lot like false modesty to me.

And now you say that I feel inferior and that's the reason I supposedly think you're acting superior. Why would anyone feel inferior to someone so muddled in contradiction and hypocrisy? Mate, sorry to burst your bubble, but you're not that special.

As for your award and the linked video, how adorable and, frankly, futile. It must be cathartic for you to pretend that you're the bigger person here, when in reality, you're putting your disingenuousness and irrationality on full display.

And let's not forget that, despite your claim of having only a few forum posts after eight years on Steam, the evidence (221 entries since 2017) clearly indicates otherwise. Perhaps you should take that video's advice and seek some help for coping with your own insecurities and inadequacies instead of projecting them onto your fellow gamers.

In the end, no matter how much you try to twist the narrative and feign superiority, the facts remain crystal clear: you're the one with the imaginary pedestal, sense of entitlement, and distorted view of self-worth.

Also aren't you the author of this?:
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2182759373

Oh, look at what we have here! More prime examples of your self-aggrandizing comments and disrespectful behavior towards others. What a surprise!

Apparently, you're a "professional KF2 player" who plays "in the big leagues," stuff the rest of us mere mortals couldn't possibly comprehend, right? Your condescending attitude bleeds into your post where you stoop so low as to label people with differing opinions "worthless as people." I mean, really? Just when I thought you couldn't dig your hole any deeper, you've outdone yourself.

Reading the comments from the link, it's clear that your hateful speech and inflated ego haven't won you any fans. You seem to have quite the talent for repelling others and sparking animosity, all in pursuit of making yourself feel superior.

But let's not forget – you're also the same person who claims not to be "saying you're superior." The irony of it all is simply poetic.

So with each new revelation of your online facade, you're painting a clearer picture for everyone to see: a person so desperately seeking validation and recognition that they're willing to fabricate stories, make hypocritical remarks, and resort to hateful speech in the process.

Congratulations, your efforts to humiliate yourself further have succeeded beyond words. You've truly become a cautionary tale for how not to act on the internet.

heres some more points because you still havent gotten over it

btw that guide is a joke because survivalist is the worst class in the game :3

i also think you should really watch that video; the amount of projection seeping off of every angry paragraph you write is starting to bother even me, and i have a very high tolerance for people who arent mentally well.

after all, if i was the one trying to act superior and validate themselves, why are you spending so much time trying to belittle my character over an opinion? even going as far to call me a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ over it! dont you think thats a little bit rude ? :3

at the end of the day, youre raging over opinions i have. also that kf2 guide was a joke you should know that after 250 hours of killing floor that survivalist isnt the best class :os_niko: (reiterating because you dont like reading what i write for whatever reason :( )

Ah, the depths you'll stoop to in an attempt to maintain your flimsy argument continue to amaze. Resorting to spamming and double posting to desperately hold on to your crumbling narrative? It's almost pitiable.

Claiming that it's just an opinion, while you repeatedly undermine and belittle those who dare to have differing views, speaks volumes about your unwillingness to engage in meaningful conversation. Instead, you wrap yourself further in a cocoon of self-delusion wherein you're above it all and beyond reproach.

You whisk away the truth like pesky flies, hoping that, by doing so, you can distort reality to suit your fancy. And yet, despite all your attempts to deflect and dissemble, it's plain to see that you're the one taking online interactions far too seriously. Your frenzied posting and insistence on having the last word only serve to prove that point.

I must say, it's been quite the journey observing your ongoing saga of self-importance, hypocrisy, and glaring disregard for the feelings of others. But there comes a time to move on, to leave the futile battle of distorted self-worth and inflated egos to those who have yet to learn the value of honest and genuine human connection.
i understand that you have strong feelings about the previous conversation, but it's important to maintain a respectful and constructive tone when expressing your thoughts. resorting to personal attacks and sweeping generalizations only detracts from the discussion at hand.

engaging in meaningful conversation requires a willingness to listen to different perspectives and consider alternative viewpoints. it's important to address specific points of disagreement rather than making broad assertions about someone's character or intentions.

while it's understandable that emotions can run high during discussions, it's important to remember that respectful dialogue fosters understanding and helps build a more inclusive and open-minded community.

let's focus on the topic at hand and strive for a more productive and respectful exchange of ideas.

Oh, so now you're resorting to relying on an AI like GPT just to stay afloat in this conversation? How utterly predictable. It's honestly both sad and hilarious that you can't even come up with your own retort, let alone form an intelligent opinion on your own.

How does it feel to be so outmatched in this debate that you turn to an AI chatbot for help? I can't imagine the crushing sense of inadequacy you must experience, knowing you can't hold your own in a discussion without external assistance. And the cherry on top? Even the AI can't fully save you from making a fool of yourself.

This really highlights how little substance and knowledge you're bringing to the table here. Do yourself a favor: take a step back, educate yourself on the subject matter, and maybe, just maybe, you can attempt to have a valid conversation without relying on some chatbot to get your point across.

Until then, why don't you retreat to the corner and let the grown-ups discuss things you clearly struggle to understand?
hey there, chill out for a moment. no need to get all worked up. let me clarify something: i am not an ai. i'm a human here, engaging in this conversation with you. i understand you may have reservations about ai, but let's keep it civil and avoid making assumptions about each other.

this discussion seems to have taken a confrontational turn, but let's remember that it's ultimately about sharing opinions. opinions can differ, and that's okay. it's how we approach those differences that truly matters. respectful dialogue allows us to exchange perspectives and gain a deeper understanding of the subject matter.

rather than focusing on personal attacks, let's steer the conversation back towards discussing the topic at hand. we can have a constructive exchange of ideas without resorting to belittling one another. so take a breath, relax, and let's continue with a more open and respectful discussion. i think we'd both do alot better if you watched this video

i also do have one more question, and im asking this as respectfully as possible. its a well studied thing that people who cheat in games are more psychopathic and rank higher on the dark triad. they also do it for feelings of power.

so, if all those things are well researched and true, why did you cheat on rust and get banned? you wouldn't cheat to feel superior would you? that would just ruin this whole little thing now wouldnt it

has anyone in here reported this thread?

i won't, but would like to know if its days are counted considering the derail.
indoor boys Jun 10, 2023 @ 5:20am
anyways now that ive basically vanquished teo lets get back on topic.

ill do this by restating the point of this post, i dont think theres anything wrong with the game being a power trip, but i feel like the rage difficulty should be like "so hard its a joke" and not just "mildly difficult." i dont think theres anything wrong with not playing on rage mode either. but id just like if the devs amped up rage mode a bit. who agrees

Jesus Christ look at this mess.

The reason why I have been deleting those posts are...complicated, but in short it is because I don't have the intention of polluting these forums with trash.

Either ways I apologize for this mess and I suggest @NIGH-INVULNERABLE TECHNOCRYPTID to do the same and get this thread back on track.

This mess is enough to get us both banned so it is in your interest as well.
