But maybe we should warn him about the whole Text Logs Thing
Most of the Story Details are hidden in Logs OP, so if you don't like reading, you won't fully understand what's going on
But i think the Story is kinda cool, if you know what the f*ck is happening
It is like F.E.A.R. in one regard, having super natural Elements that is
But it's more like SCP then F.E.A.R. tbh
But yeah, reading is required
You are Subject 106, one of many artificially created Lifeforms used by the so called "Syndicate" to do their dirty Work
Through the Syndicate never tells him that and let's him believe he himself is just a normal Human
The Number of you Name is not just a Production Number, it's the Cycle you were made for
A Cycle is specific Situation or Event you are specifically made for
In this Case, Cycle 106 is the Termination of the surviving rogue Subjects from earlier Cycles and their respective Organisations
The Story starts with 106 beeing "rescued" from a Horizon Facility
Your Rescuer is another Subject that fullfilled his Purpose and unalived himself
After you cleared the Facility a Rescue Team will escort you to their secret Base
This Rescue Team belongs to Task Force 27, or TF27 in short
TF27 is a Syndicate funded Special Forces Team who is responsible for the Creation of the Cycles and their Termination
TF27 will gaslight you into thinking they are you Allies and want to help you get Revenge from Horizon and their CEO, who is also a rogue Cycle
Anton Lazar, the CEO of Horizon, wants to show the World what the Syndicate is and what they are doing, that beeing illegal anomalous Research, kinda like the SCP Foundation, but instead of studying the Anomolies TF27 destroy them.
But he also isn't a good Guy, through he has good Intentions
His Plan is to research and protect those Anomilies to use them for the betterment of Mankind, but he isn't able to control them and most of his Experiments are getting out of Hand and cost Hundreds of Lifes
After getting rescued, 106 is send to a Mission to rescue a Horizon Scientist, who is secretly also another Cycle and was supposed to act as a Agent in Horizon, but was found out by Security
Something that was supposed to be a normal Rescue Missions ends up in a cleaning Mission, because the Doctor you where supposed to rescue let One of the Experiments free, which already killed half the Facility
The Doctor himself is already dead, probably killed by Security or Suicide
Your next Mission is to destroy a Cult and their Leader, known as the Patriarch, and rescue another Scientist, this Time a real Scientist from Horizon
The Patriarch is fully aware of the Secrets of Horizon and the Syndicate and even begs you to stop because you don't know what you are doing
You will think of the Cult as generic religious Extremists, but in Reality they are Soldiers and Scientists that are larping the whole Cult Thing, even calling Experiments Rituals
The Patriarch will kill the Scientist and so your only remaining Target is him
He will Fight you in his Chappel, but isn't happy about killing "another Brother"
106 was not the first Cycle sent after him, but he killed your Predecessor
When you defeat him, he will tell you with his dying Breath to "Break the Cycle"
Your next Mission will be another Horizon Facility in Russia
This Facility is already filled with Corpses when you get there, because whatever they experimented on broke Containment and killed them
This Anomaly seems to like and even protect the 106, never actually trying to harm him
This could be explained in beeing another Cycle, because this Anomaly has a Cycle Name "Subject 87"
Cycles are not required to be Human, because the Patriarch sure isn't
To be specific, the Patriarch doesn't even seem to be organic
After "killing" the Anomaly, it will teleport you out of the Facility to protect you from the Facilities self-destruct Mechanism and tells you "It's not your Time"
I think it tries to help you breaking the Cycle, but it is rather mysterious
Your next Mission will be the Destruction of the Horizon HQ and the Killing of Anton Lazar
During the Mission you will see that you "Friends" from TF27 deliberately killing hundreds, if not thousands of Civilians just to cover this Sh*t up
At the End of the Mission you will kill Anton Lazar, those fullfilling you Cycle
When trying to get back to Base, you will be betrayed and knocked out
TF27 will trie to burn you alive, but you free yourself and kill them all
At the End you will find out that they already made your Replacement and after Fighting this you will detonate the Facilities Nuke and break the Cycle
During the Main Missions you can encounter Drones, sent by another Subject named Marcus (or so i believe)
Those Drones copy Parts of your Memory and if you find all of the Drones they will send your entire "Beeing" for a lack of a better Term to Marcus, who will put them in a Clone Body of yours
Marcus is not just a Subject, but Horizons lead Scientist under Anton Lazar
You can "encounter" him one Time during the last Main Mission while speaking to Lazar over Radio
The Reason i believe Marcus is the Man behind the Drones is because he is the only One understanding how making Memory Copie's and transfering them works
Also your "Rescuer" in the secret after Credits Scene has the same VA as Marcus
And Marcus was never found by TF27 during the HQ Raid
I needed to shorten this Essay, so there are many Details missing and it is badly written sorry
I hope that makes sense.
