What was "THAT" sound....

SPOILERS - Having beaten the game, clearly the story is going to stay somewhat foggy in places. I feel like each of us kind of have a bunch of odd questions somewhere. Still, one left on my mind is after the Object 83 fight, once you return home there is this sudden sound coming from the locker area. Some kind of gagging or suffocating noise that then disappears, or fades out as the female VO kicks in with some jargon. I only found this happening after that mission, but it would repeat itself after side jobs. I'm wondering if anyone else figured anything out about this, or if its just more of a hollow spook just thrown in there (Kinda like the "Find me" voice in the same prior level - leads you to expect something much worse, but was just kind of the voice ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ around).

I was on edge thinking something much weirder would evolve, or like Object 83 even still somehow had control over you, etc. But seems like none of that came to be.

Yeah that was something I was hoping would develop and come back, that "Vox" came with us from Site 83 back to haunt the safehouse, I was expecting it to show up again in some form.
Gotta hope for a mission pack DLC I guess to deal with that...

I only just got/noticed a vox line when I got back from a side mission after I posted this. I don't know if I missed it before, but also kinda flinched like WTF! Very interesting...

It's the record player next to the player customization cabinet. It plays spooky sounds until you get close to it. If you don't go beyond Site 83 in the story it'll play the noise again whenever you come back from a side mission.
