FEAR 3 was literally just non-stop shooting and combat. FEAR 1 and 2 actually had reasons for the down times between combat to exist. FEAR 3, much like Trepang2, does nothing with that down time.
FEAR 1 and 2 definitely had enemy arenas, but at least they were more than that.
while there is inspiration, current demo and whole product are not exactly fear, as shown by the multitude of posts disliking the game through comparisons with the older shooter. you go a lot faster, have different abilities, the story presentation just is not the same, just like the overall vibe they install through missions, be it campaign or gore fest scenarios.
