Can't modify weapons

Picked up modification parts (silencer and laser), but can't attach them to the guns.
Has anyone else here encountered this problem?

are you sure you tried the right guns
they are bound to specific guns only
you pick up the silencer for each gun seperatly for example
otherwise no, I haven't had this problem

So it's gun-specific, that could be the problem. I was trying to modify the assault rifle, maybe the attachments were meant for another weapon.
I could detach the silencer, but not re-attach it.

Finding the crate wasn't the problem, I think it was the weapon I was using at that moment...
